Belle of St Mark

Sorry if this has been addressed before...

Listening to this song...I have to wonder...was this song origianlly intended to be sung by a guy?
Was it originally intended for someone else?

Nikster,

I always thought that Belle of St. Mark was obviously an ode to a woman. Personally I think both Prince,Sheila and Sussanah are bisexual. These are just observances. Take Boys and Girls "She had the cutest ass he'd ever seen, he did too they were meant to be." I think Glamorous life means Gay Life. Sister Fate, "If they knew the real truth, they'd probably die" As far as Sussanah, well I saw a picture of her and K.D. Lang out on the town. That may not mean much since her, Wendy and Lisa were working with her. Then again maybe they're all just really cool with homosexuality. At least let's hope that's it.
