TONY LE MANS June 24 was twelve years since Tony Le Mans died. Does anyone know anything about him pre Paisley Park?, he also seemed to be one of or the only person on PP who had little or no Prince involvement on his album (is that a good or a bad thing?), the album was released back in '89 and although i think the production was very good for it's era i sometimes wonder what it would've sounded like if he had a real band behind him.

Wasn't he involved with Lenny Kravitz before Prince?

wasn't Vanity's sister dating him at one time? I remember her making mention of him on an interview I have. I am not African. Africa is in me, but I cannot return.
I am not taína. Taíno is in me, but there is no way back. I am not european. Europe lives in me, but I have no home there. I am new. History made me. My first language was spanglish. And I am

Tony was an incredible talent and good friend. Yes he dated Denise's sister Debra and he did have a band behind him. In fact, I played with him at one time. The thing that a lot of people don't know is that Prince and Tony did some amazing tunes that have yet to be heard by the general public. I spoke with Lenny about Tony a week or so after I had just seen him and Lenny said that Tony wasn't a friend of his. They did however play in the same band at one time. I think Tony had some dealings with some of the members of "Maggie's Dream" also. David Gamson of Scritti Polliti produced and wrote some of that album but in my opinion the first versions of some of those tracks were much nicer. Especially the stuff that Prince and Tony did.
So many of us miss Tony a lot but I'll have to make due with good memories and my pictures.

Yes, he did perform that Paisley Park album live. I saw him perform New Year's Eve 1989 ('90). It was an excellent show. At the Moscone Center in San Francisco (that was a long time ago.)
