That's awesome. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The man is an incredible drummer. Today I was thinking about Prince & the NPG. Prince suffered the loss of a child, as did John and wonder if any others have. One of my friends brothers is in a local band and they've all suffered the same exact "personal" loss over the past five years. It's an oddity I'll never understand.

Thanks again!

Your post is an oddity in itself..is it like walking under a ladder, breaking a mirror...better don't join a band or else you know what will happen *sarc*

Im surprised that Princre hasnt put something together himself...perhaps he has given teh profits froma few gigs already but not just told anyone.

Does anyone know what the money will be used for...I thought his daughter tragically drowned by accident?

Part of the proceeds will go toward promoting child water safety. The bulk of it will go to endow a permanent scholarship fund to be distributed to female students at Berklee based on demonstrated talent and financial need.

Contributions to the fund can be made by check payable to “Berklee College of Music”. On your check, please be sure to note, “Jia Blackwell Fund”. Then, mail your check to the following address:
Marjorie O’Malley
Berklee College of Music
MS 1140 I.A.
1140 Boylston Street
Boston, Massachusetts 02215
USA

C'mon, CJBD, no need to get snippy. You have to be extra nice, so people will be encouraged to donate to such a worthy cause.

In fact, if you and I weren't the same person, I'd go upside your head and make you apologize to The Deacon.

My sense of fair play tempts me to hijack this thread with some Mani vs. Mayte nonsense.

Thats fair enough..I just couldnt work out what they were going to do with the money because, without sounding nasty (im no good with words), I thought their daughetr died because she wasnt being watched and wandered off.....so I couldnt see what the money could promote.

But the causes you mention seem very worthwhile and,if aimed at the right age or even parents, the water-safety angle could be very beneficial.
