Where are they now?: Elisa Fiorillo! Check out the latest on Elisa Fiorillo:
http://www.elisafiorillo....graphy.htm Read her biography, she's contributed quite a bit to Prince's music from '89 to '91. If you look around her site, especially the press releases, you will find some interesting little Prince mentions, check the magazine articles. She's got a new independent album and is doing pretty good! "Oooh This I Need" and "Love Machine" being the standout Prince songs...hey(!) she also sang on PartyMan?! Coool. Then: Now:

Anyone remember when she performed on It's Showtime at the Apollo in 91?
She performed "Ooh This I Need", she had dancers carrying her around, kind of cool performance. I have it somewhere in my vast VHS archives. Anyone seen it? Remember it? ...anyone?

I only have her album "I am" (given to me by a friend -thanks V.;-D) and listen to it quite often. She deserves to get more attention as a singer because all we get on the radio nowadays are these J Lo-imitators.

I was listening to I AM today...a tad dated, but she has a great voice. Kind of dissapointing that she didn't come back with another album after this...she was poised for a bit more fanfare and momentum...management? She had the looks, the voice...record companies.

As is the case with most Prince proteges, she dissapeared from site after collaborating with him. It's almost like a curse...work with Prince and you'll never be heard from again...lol...but I was never all that impressed with Elisa. But I'm not surprised that Prince was smitten with her. She's gorgeous!

FlyingCloud, I *do* remember that Showtime at the Apollo performance. Like you, my videotape archive is much too large. I need to go through it, edit out the stuff I don't need/want, and transfer it to DVD.

I saw her perform "Ooh This I Need" on Nia Peeples' "Party Machine" (or whatever her dance show was called). She was pretty good!!!
It's my understanding that Elsia was discovered by Jellybean Benitez (of Madonna fame). By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
