Listen in as singer/songwriter, musician, actress and dancer MARVA KING stops by the "Upper Room with Joe Kelley" for an in-depth interview and music special. King recently released a new CD, "Light of Day" that has garnered rave reviews and extensive worldwide airplay. During this interview, Marva discusses her new album, her touring and recording with Prince, and the TV appearance on Jay Leno (oink, oink smile ). Plus, her initial hiring by Prince for his band is a very cool story.

Marva King has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Seal, Lenny Kravitz, Jimmy Cliff, Quincy Jones, Whitney Houston, D'Angelo, Eric Benet, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Teddy Riley, Johnnie Gill, Lionel Richie, Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Julio Iglesias, Anita Baker, Babyface, Andrae Crouch, Shaggy and more.

Marva created a buzz for herself when she began to sing, dance and play percussion with Prince and the New Power Generation. Larry Flick of Billboard Magazine is quoted: "Marva King is a supreme Diva, and her name will go down in history as one of the best".

Marva has taken audiences by storm in her stunning role as "Helen", the lead in the hit musical play, "Diary of A Mad Black Woman". She was nominated and won best Neo-Soul performer, Neo-Soul artist at the R&B, Soul Music Awards 2003 in Los Angeles.
