I was listening to some "jam" track of Prince's.He wass really going off on guitar.There was no real rhyme or reason.Then,at 9:31 of the track he starts to introduce Billy.It isn't a verbal intro..just a musical theme.But he does get a littlemore into this protege of his. And I started to think of the fondness I had for the "Billy" character in Purple Rain.(He was the no-b.s. club owner that rode Prince into success.)I also remembered that during the Act1 tour I literally almost bumped into Billy.We almsot crashed into each other in the lobby.

Prince was performing at the Fox Theater and I had gotten there really early to get my drink on.Billy and I exchanged courtesies and he walked into the venue and sat in the back.I think he was wearing a baby blue nylon jumpsuit with a matching baseball cap.He looked exactly as he had in the film. Others that recognized him just smiled and looked at each other as if to say,"Did you see that??!".

Another thought came to me about Billy and his lack of fame beyond that film.Perhaps Billy is the most neglected protogee of all.I mean,Prince never even finished the song dedicated to him and never released it.And nevermind the fact that if he had finished it and edited it, Prince had a slamming tune there.Is that how much disdain Prince had for Billy's career?Billy was relegated to the back of a theater with a baby blue track suit and some dude almost spilling gin and tonic all over him.Did Billy Sparks play the role of "Billy" so well that it pissed Prince off?Is this how he fashioned a revenge for that error in ambition?Was Billy really yelling at Prince and they weren't written lines and Prince chose to never forget that humiliation?Is Billy Sparks a monster of improv?Is Prince a jealous prick?

I think I've seen Farnsworth Bentley in EVERY video.I think he has his own line of clothing.Why is Billy forgotten?Why didn't Billy guest in others' videos?Why wasn't Billy ever on SNL?There was no Dave Chappelle so Eddie shoudl have had him on SNL.Eddie was a huge Prince fan.Did Prince tell Eddie to snub Billy?Why was Billy not ever a guest veejay on MTV?Farnsworth wears a slick ensemble and Billy wears a baby blue track suit!!Is this some cruel joke???A lareg man in a track suit.I get it.And they put that big ass brotha in baby blue on top of that.That ain't right!!

Ok,so now I'm listening to "White Girls".That is funky.It ends with Prince yelling,"On the 1!!".Ok,so,white girls,anonymous white girls are cooler than a superego named Billy??(The Kid,Morris,and Billy are all Prince)White chicks are cool and all ,but we don't even know who these people are!Billy is in OUR movie!! Listening to "Billy's Sunglasses" in one sitting is a maddening exercise.Contrast that to the euphoria you feel after listening to "White Girls".And "Billy's Sunglasses" doesn't end with Prince yelling,"On the 1!!".Somethin' ain't right,folks.

What the HELL are you prattling on about and WHY???? Billy Sparks is no alter-ego of Prince. Billy Sparks is no Character (well, that may depend on who you ask). Billy Sparks still works with/for Prince. You can catch him on most tours. As for Billy's bad fashion choices-those are BILLY's BAD FASHION CHOICES-not Prince's. And about Billy getting in shout outs he may deserve, I'm sure he is happier getting his PAYCHECKS for doing his JOB! Jeez folks look into things just a little bit before posting some mile long diatribe defending poor lil' Billy Sparks- a man who has been with Prince far longer than almost everyone currently around and with a position far more important than that of man-servant Farnsworth Bently!
