LOL, hmph! I'd say that perhaps it because all of you collectively went tone deaf during the first few seconds of the first song, and didn't really hear the rest, so you just don't know any better.

lol

Jill was WAAAAAY better than Taja. Taja's had some of the dullest songs I've ever heard. YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!!!!!

at least the instruments were in tune for the taja album. that tuba/trombone that starts
'baby youre a trip' is way off, as is princes guitar in places(near the end of the second verse). i cant believe that got passed production stage. the mixing is terrible as well, as you cant hear her in places on this song.

Jill jones voice is irritating at times when she screams, something i never got into, as if shes trying too hard to impress (who?)

i like jones album better overall, taja seems a bit cheesy (infatuation) but does have the funky wouldnt you love to love me (what a bass line - too sexy!) lol

JIll Jones without question. A very strong debut with an awesome b-side (Mia Bocca/Baby Cries Ah-Yah). It's sad that her later material is pretty hard to find in the real world. Taja, on the other hand, had pretty neutral material save for the strong "Love is Contagious" single.

At the end, I've always found it difficult to make disparaging remarks about an artist's work simply for the fact that, no matter how great or terrible it ends up being, some poor soul put their heart into it.

I think Jill's album was better, but I do agree that her voice walks a fine line between being strong and emotional and just plain screechy and harsh.

The music is awesome, though. Great songs.

I can't decide I enjoyed them both...Jill's album was more funkier....but they both had some beautiful ballads....."Baby your a trip","Violet Blue","For you" and from Taja I loved "Love is contaigious","Fly for your painted rainbow",and "How could you do me so bad"....I like them both.....

I'd have to go with Jill Jones' debut album.
In fact it's probably one of the best 'associated artist' albums to be released.

Indeed.

If I ever hear the catterwalling of "Love Is Contageous" again...EVER - I'm gonna shoot something...or someone! Her last name may have been Seville, but her voice was a Pinto...'72 Pinto at that.

Jill hands down.
