Under The Influence
by Vanity (1986) (written by T.Faragher/R.Nevil/T.Haynes) Some habits are too hard to break You give in,then you're hooked on what you take Why don't you come close I need an overdose Because you've got me (chorus) You got me Under The Influence of a four-letter word on my mind You got me Under The Influence and I'll do anything anytime My empty nights you fill them up I don't know when to say I've had enough Intoxicate me with every kiss you've got I know I must be (chorus 2) I must be Under The Influence of a four-letter word on my mind You got me Under The Influence and I'll do anything anytime I must be Under The Influence of a love that gets sweeter than wine You got me Under The Influence and my willpower's so hard to find (instrumental break) Repeat chorus 2 [This message was edited Mon Jul 12 4:13:50 2004 by DavidEye]

Yeah, and it did a lot of good, didn't it? Pretty Mess was a modest hit -- performed better than any singles from the 2nd album, didn't it? And then I thought I'd end a third sentence with, didn't it? http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

I don't know the chart numbers, but I don't think ANY of Vanity's solo singles were big hits.In my area,"Under The Influence" got about as much airplay as "Pretty Mess".It had a really outstanding video, filmed in black and white. It's a better song than "Pretty Mess" and I'm surprised it didn't do better on the charts.
