SPORTS FORUM..... I notice a couple of new forums up on the Org and I was wondering if I could 'push my luck' by expanding the good man Anxiety's suggestion of a  SPORTS FORUM
I know it may be abit of a cheeky ask and I fully appreciate this is mainly a 'Prince music site', but like alot of Prince fans I do love both!  and I'm pretty much sure
(I think!) that folks would enjoying flexing sports banter with fellow  fans!
What you say!?  Good idea?
A seperate forum would keep the General Forum from clogging up with sports talk and thus avoid annoying my main baby boy Anx! (  ) and other non-sports
fans alike  .
Another arguement for a seperate forum is that you could get rid of those TWO 'STICKY' SPORTS THREADS from the top of the GD page that alot of peeps were pissed off about and put them in the proposed SPORTS FROUM 
.....and the biggest case of all.... .....just look at the summer of fantastic sports ahead  ....
European Football Championships 2004  , the XXVIII OLYMPIC GAMES  ,
the PARALYMPIC GAMES, Wimbledon '04, Formula 1, the U.S. Open in New York, 91st Tour de France, the ICC Cricket World Championships ....and I'm sure there's plenty of things on in the U.S. sports calendar as well!!! (Post and tell us people  )
So even if there's a Sports Forum up just for the summer for all the Olympic news alone, I think it would be well worth it and greatly valued

The notion is a good one because it keeps both sports fans and sports haters happy

This idea was brought up a year or two ago by another Orger, but was never seriously considered. It's a better idea than that damn sex forum that used to be here. I don't get the complaint that the sports threads in GD are such a hassle.
Whatever the case, hopefully the next time there are sports threads in any forum the moderation won't get so knee jerk, sensitive, and candylandish that a simple "GTFOOHWTS" results in a post being deleted while allowing the --->  responses to remain.  This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes. | |

I don't understand why there was ANY bitching about the NBA Finals thread being sticky. I'm glad it was easy to find
Is the GD forum indeed for General Discussion or is it only for Orgers to suck each others nuts all day every day?  That's what the majority of the forum is filled up with & nobody complains about even the most miniscule threads but ONE simple sports thread is bitched about.  I don't get it...

I don't see the need for a seperate forum. The GD forum is big enough to handle them all. There isn't that many sports thread required.
I felt the GD forum was diluted when the Wank Forum was created. I think variety is what makes the GD forum special.
And surely that's what sticky threads are for? | |

One of the main reasons for the Sports Forum suggestion was coz alot of peeps were complaining about the 'Sticky Sports' threads and other were saying it was clogging up the GD. There may be more sports threads popping up as well coz of big events like the Olympics, etc. this summer. Therefore even a 'temporary' Sports Forum JUST for the summer was an idea
