there is way too much hypocrisy at the org.

when i check out the p&r forum, i see countless insults to cconservatives. to people who believe in God (especially christians and even JWs even more so). i read "debates" that get down right insulting yet they stay up.

i'm so annoyed that my thread about an email was deleted. the was not ABOUT the email so much as it was about the issues contained therein.

i guess if i start insulting christians and cons my threads will remain. rolleyes

Meh, I say leave it be sos - don't give in to SassyBritches' tantrum smile

Sorry SassyBritches but your thread was a steaming pile of shit and if someone like EvilWhiteMale or IceNine posted it, they'd be getting hell for it. It's flamebait, and a dumb circular which violates the Prince.org terms of service.

Personally I find it irresponsible and disingenuous to reproduce thinly-veiled racist right wing crap under the guise of "oh I don't agree with all of it, just some of it, but I'm only posting it so we can discuss it!".

That's just my view, for what it is worth.

If you were ever REALLY interested in discussing the ignorant bullshit in that circular, you could have started by stating exactly what parts you agreed with and what parts you took issue with, and got the ball rolling that way.

even if it IS a load of steaming cunty whinge shit (or whatever it is that Ian called it), i'm glad it remained posted...sometimes you gotta see what's floating around out there, and this is the kind of thing that none of my peace love and punkrock friends would ever forward to me, or have forwarded to them, so this was my first time seeing it. you may feel it raises stupid questions, but guess what - they're questions and arguments that are REALLY going on out there, and in my estimation, i wanna know what's going on outside the confines of my happy little cultural comfort bubble.

just sayin' is all...

Interesting thread.
I'm about to ask a question everyone here has probably seen a million and a half times before, so, if no one feels like answering it, that's cool. I've been a Prince fan for years and years. I thought about joining his club a while back when the fee was 100 bucks. Too rich for my blood, I thought. However, 25 bucks ain't half bad and I just happen to have the dough floating around the top of a foamy mug 'o' student loans. Still though, I'm not (yet) a member of the club and all I've ever heard about it is a few good things here (cheap admission, cheaper downloads, advance ticket sales) and a few bad things there (bad quality downloads, uber-religious atmosphere, negative posts). I've yet to read anything really concrete to assist in making a final decision. My question is: what the heck am I missing and what are y'all getting out of it? This community seems interesting enough pour moi. Has "the club" got better reading content? Is it all about the big J.W. and Larry Graham worship? How many "rooms" are there? Is the site ever updated? Are there sweet bouquets of free downloads? Do folks sign away their ability to describe the site when they join? Funny how one question turms into a bunch, buuuut . . . there you have it.

Always happy to deliver the humour goods.
However, having taken some extra time to scan the other threads, I now realize my question/thread has been inappropriately placed. Whooooops, Sorry!

anyone who subscribes wholesale to a "liberal" or "conservative" mentality is automatically 50% wrong. and in the current political climate, you can add a few percentage points of silly on to that tally.

yes
Thanks for sharing your views. One of the reasons I posted my query here in the first place is I appreciate the opinions of the folks on the thread. I was hoping for some of the usual thoughtful feed-back. So far so good. Thanks for posting. If anyone would like to add anything else, that would be tres bon! What I'm getting so far is that discussion on the "club" forum is largely informed by religious politics lending itself to incoherent rants.
Hm. Water's cold. Any reason's to jump in anyway?

ppl aren't going to agree....

and are we talking about "hypocrisy"?

I'm not seeing hypocrisy but real life issues being discussed and I think that we somehow feel that because we are all on a Prince fansite that we are going to see eye to eye.

We all get bashed in someways if you put your opinion out there.

i disagree with about 98% of everything i've seen from sassy over the past few days, and to be honest, i have my doubts about the sincerity of a lot of what he's posting. but ya know what? i'm really glad he's expressing his views openly, whatever those views may be and for whatever ends he's putting them out there. i just hope that when someone posts an opposing viewpoint, those contrary thoughts aren't confused with an act of "hypocrisy". that attitude in itself would be a little hypocritical, no?

i totally agree sassybritches!

there are WAY too many hippopotami at the ORg lately
lol
but i do love the lively debates in the P&R forums. isn't it great the way we can talk about our dissenting ideas? i love that there are representatives of many religious groups speaking out there.

hey emmanuel - the NPGMC club is pretty interesting. i wonder if the NPGMC has a trial membership offer?

XxAxX, from what I can see at the club-site, there is no opportunity for a "trial" club experience. Apparently there used to be, but alas, no longer.
I'll take the plunge and join, hoping that not every discussion/thread is J.W. related. The only other serious issue I have with joining is the fact that one cannot download the available music tracks onto a mac iBook, which is the computer i currently own. Thanks for the suggestion. Once I'm a member, it's the very first recommendation I'll make.

i love love love the P&R forum and the way it's moderated. it keeps all the jackasses in one place and not spilling out into all of the other decent forums. for the same reason, i wish the Love, Sex & Relationships forum would return neutral
