OK, OK. You win on the girlbros matter. I completely agree with the last two sentences. I always give credit when I can. And that is not always copied by the one who copies my stuff. I have never said it is my stuff and I certainly don't claim copyright (we made that clear several times on HQ). I just made the comment because people always start talking about copyright when it comes to pics and they never mention it when there are news articles posted. And I don't think this is only a matter of HQ and prince.org. Princefams and graffitibridge also post watermarks but I never see any heated discussions about those sites Formerly known as Parade @ HQ and formerly proud owner of www.paradetour.com

As much as I'd love all y'all to come over to my apartment and dig through my music collection and enjoy what I have, I lock my door when I leave so I know it's where it belongs when I come home. As the person who owns what I own, I feel the burden of protection of my belongings is on ME, not on the people who would be tempted to take it. Couldn't the same be said of what one considers "theirs" online?
Yes, I understand the ethics of the situation, and guess what - I AGREE - but there's doing something about it, and then there's placing the burden of protection on people who have no initiative in upholding such burden.

Princefams and graffitibridge also post watermarks but I never see any heated discussions about those sites okay, let me sound like a dork again but...ive never heard of those sites either.. i guess im looking at this issue from a larger scope....its not an issue of one prince fan site versus another for me because i dont visit any of them...i guess thats why i keep bringing it back to original owner of the pictures...legally you shouldnt even be modifying the pictures in the first place.... i think the only argument of yours that has weight is the use of your bandwidth....if you are trying to limit the usage (expecially if you have a max daily transfer) then your going to have to figure out a way to limit people from displaying the pics via your hosting...i think anxiety shared a great example of a site thats doing just that.... and i disagree with tom..sure tech geeks will learn how to still steal the pictures, but most of us arent that tech savy..... why are people still fighting over this bullshit? let it rest already...there are far more serious things to worry about than pictures on a website.
