Enough of emoticons, already.

I'm serious, a lot of the threads are starting to look more like commercials for rave clubs. There are too many emoticons made available and people use them far too much - which does contribute the overall decrease of the level of conversation we've been witnessing during the recent times here at the .org. The threads are getting really hard to read as well.

The least you all could do would be, at the very least, not to include dozens of wacky smiling faces in your signatures. Pretty please?

I heart emoticons. They are useful to express something or liven up the thread.

I honestly believe that a much larger selection of emoticons than is currently available at Prince.org could be very helpful in getting the right emotions communicated in one's posts. So
I'd very much like to see an expansion of the current options. biggrin

But... I have seen other orgers use some they've found elsewhere that are really fun, like the one jumping on the couch, or the couple humping in a bed, and the drum player and the dancing banana and, and, and...

And we don't have those on the org and I think having them as options could be really helpful in getting one's mesage more clearly communicated on any given thread and subject. biggrin

Yes, clearly communicated. Why use words when you can use a very informative small yellow blob?

maybe you should join a club or social organization in real time? You are complaining about lack of conversation from an online medium..or complaining about the use of heuristics (thats used in regular language anyways) from a written social medium

It's all about the quality of the communication. And this is just a plea for people to decrease the amount of emoticons used per post, because it's getting increasingly hard to read the actual threads. These are discussion forums, not cartoons.
