Search facility - a request I'm glad that the search facility is working properly, it's very handy.
But could the results be presented in reverse chronological order, ie most recent at the top. Or at least have an option to pick the order you want. I nearly always want the newer results. Even better would be if you could pick the forum(s) you wanted to search, but I guess that would be tricky with different forums coming and going. Cheers!

Founder | This is a very oft-requested feature, but it tends to slow searches to a crawl... they are "naturally" in forward-chronological order in the DB, so that's how they come out. If I additionally request they be sorted in reverse order, it seriously slows searches, especially if there are a lot of results.
So, I'll do some experiments, but not sure there's much I can do about this and maintain good performance I suggest in the meantime, trying to be more specific with your terms... ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

Well, if they must come out oldest first, can we at least have a button that let's us skip to the last page of search results instead of going page by page through an unknown amount of pages? Also, there could be more useful info on the search page. For instance, it tells me how long the search took & how many results are on the page. What I'd like to know is the total # of results found & maybe the total # of pages of results (or at least that last page skip button I mentioned before)...
