I don't like it... ... org 3.0, that is.
What I liked about 2.0 was that it was very clean-looking and easy to read. Easy to follow, easy to find where things were. When reading forums, your eyes naturally moved to where you needed them to be. I loved the previous setup. It was so different and unique from all of the other standard forums you find on the internet. It looked like a lot of work had gone into it, and that ben had created something nearly from scratch, that was easy to use and pleasing to the eye and followed some sort of logic. Perhaps that was by accident. Because this new one is perilously close to looking/functioning like almost every other message board system out there. I'm a fan of the site, but I'm definitely not a fan of this new version.

would it be possible, now that we have the search function back, to change the order of search results to start with the most recent posts?
thanks. | |

oh, and another thing.
i was hoping that org 3.0 would improve the chatroom. not the setup. i like that. i was thinking more of the class of people that chat there. it just gets lamer and lamer every year.

Founder | 1. It still is "different" from all other forums. Really, it's not that different from how it used to be, except for some formatting. More features mean more "stuff", which I suppose, might make it a bit more cluttered. But a lot of thought HAS gone into how everything is placed. If you want to make constructive comments about improvements, I'm happy to hear them.
2. I don't even understand what "improvement" to the chat you are looking for. 3. The search result ordering issue has been discussed by me here before. It's not currently easily doable, and still keep the results fast. I will look into this in the coming weeks and months, though. 4. The font is probably smaller. But now you can change it with your browser. Ctrl+Scrollwheel typically. I'm working on something more 'automatic' that will 'remember' your setting. 5. I don't really appreciate you appropriating our old logo as your avatar. That's still our copyrighted property, and shouldn't be used without our permission. Also, the name 'togdog' as you know is "special". Since I see your account has no "real" information in it (name, address), don't be surprised if your account is removed... ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

What drives me nuts is that you have to click on a link to log in... you can't log in straight away on the homepage like you could with 2.0... or maybe you can and I'm just retarded... that's my only real complaint, though (about the login thing, not me being retarded).
I mean, like, where is the sun?

There's your answer. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
