It seems that I'm screwed either way here. If I moderate the threads about Teller's forum, I get accused of impartial moderation. If I don't moderate them, I get accused of impartial moderation. shrug

This is exactly why your position is no longer tenable, you'll never regain the impartial credibility needed to be respected moderator.

I read this before and I honestly don't remember there being a flame there.

And yet the flames at the top of this thread are still there.

Actually, although matt may not have done it, the thread where melissa called us "childish idiots" was locked and deleted and then her follow-up "i never learn from my mistakes thread" (that wasn't the name of the thread, just it's theme ) was also locked and may have been deleted. She does get moderated just like everyone else. Matt shouldn't have to delete her threads since they have a personal relationship, that would be like me being a police officer and arresting my boyfirend. It just makes things uncomfortable.

The problem is that she's kinda gone buckwild and is now inviting people to flame her on threads because she feels like she has no protection and everyone hates her. Seems like victim mentality to me, but she really hasn't gotten any love the past few days.

This whole thing is starting to get kinda funny in a soap opera-ish way. Lots of drama, not tons of action. shrug

No offense to you or Matt, Mel C. (I've never had a cross word with either of you.) But "shut down the org for a month" my ass! omfg

It seems that all of the stuff being touched on in this thread -- from you and Matt's sex life (which I can't believe is still effecting the org) to a few rogue orgers who like to badmouth people to issues between moderators to the moderating system itself -- is shit that needs to be dealt with among the parties involved as adults, as professionals, and IN PRIVATE! I come to the org to have a good time, some good conversation and, if I'm lucky, to get Fhunkin in bed. I don't hurt people and I protect myself from getting hurt because I observe the boundaries of simple tact. Why should I have to suffer the Org's temporary shutdown because a few grown-ass people I've never even met can't seem to deal with their own shit behind closed door?

Some of your suggestions are cool, but you all take that drama, deal with it and come back. I don't wanna see that shit.

As long as Dansa does it. No way in hell Matt should be in a position to mess with anyone's posts ever again. He's a disgrace.

Heh.

We can't believe our "sex life" (relationship) is still affecting the org either. If you go back and look, I think you'll find that we don't bring it up in any sort of substantial context. Particularly Matt; as he recently pointed out, if you just read his posts on the matter, you wouldn't know whether or not we HAVE a sex life. It's actually other people who can't let it go. Every time somebody has an issue with the moderation on this site (or apparently the lack thereof on any other site on the internet wink ), it's because I have an unconventional relationship with an org mod. No, more than that. It's, apparently, because I'm a [insert word that means slut] and because Matt is completely unable to moderate due to the distraction of his Poly[insertwittyendinghere] girlfriend a couple thousand miles away. That is the cause of flames being deleted, that is the cause of people who flame repeatedly being deactivated, and that is the cause of every other problem the org has ever or will ever have.

Right?

People, if I'm getting "abrasive", perhaps you can BEGIN to imagine why. wink'

P.S.: Professionals? Last I checked, there are only volunteers providing this service, allowing this community to exist. Friendly reminder.

It is funny, actually, for those of us (and I mean for you to be included in this) who have some grip upon the role of this website in the grand scheme of things.

I wanna say that it is laughable to me that anything Matt could do to me on the org, such as moderate my threads, would make me upset with him. I just don't take our intereactions here THAT seriously. However, to my knowledge, it has only been Dansa who has dealt with my threads. She's been busy, so a lot of nastiness has been left in place. Cool, but pardon me if I don't just sit back and take it up the ass. So to speak. wink

And THANK you for finally getting in the victim mentality slam. That was exactly the irony that I was referring to on that thread, and I was dissapointed that nobody picked up on it. clapping party
