Ben: My Suggestions You and Dansa should publicly apologize to Matt for your lack of support, after years of effort and contribution on his part. Nobody should want to be a mod after the way that he has been thrown to the sharks.
Shut down the org for a month. Ok, ok, at least two weeks. All of the idiots here presumably have short memories, and it would allow recent drama to cool off. Things would be better when it reopened. Have a pow-wow with current and future mods, set out clear guidelines for the use of this new and improved moderation system that you've apparently been working on, and make sure that everybody is on board. Have the guidelines placed in the site FAQ. One of the guidelines should be that disputes between mods must be kept completely and totally in private to keep them from being pitted against one another. Instruct your team to enforce the rules. Continue to insist that the org is not a democracy and that moderators have absolute rights.

Excellent contribution. You should be our next mod. Just like Matt? Is he as passive in bed as he is on the Org? See, the problem here is, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. You're just rehashing the same tired "Matt does nothing" line. As opposed to the other recent favorite, "Matt does too much." And as badly as I want to respond to the latter comment, I'm trying to learn my lesson about discussing my sex life in detail on the org. Short answer? No.

He goes and polywiggles for months at a time and then pops in and starts locking threads he has no reason even touching. Shauslers poetry threads are one of the brightest and good feeling threads on the org ever. Matt locked it because he considered it mindless dribble. He banned me without an explanation and then pretty much called me a liar about Cborgman and still hasn't apologozed for that. Then we see him on a site packed with racist and homophobic remarks and wonder how can he moderate somebody when he at the house of ill repute? I GOT YA, I GOT YA, I GOT YA PUNKASS! REPEAT

I honestly don't know much about the situations to which you refer. Links? He barely friggin posted at that site, and certainly didn't contribute to the offensive content. I don't understand why people don't get that.

Instruct your team to enforce the rules. Kind of like a Star Chamber. That's an odd suggestion coming from a Libertarian. As for pitting people against one another, talk to that dipshit Ian about that. He would regularly pit Orgers against one another. He would tell me in an orgnote that [blank] has always been a problem on this site and he could no longer deal with him. Then he would do the same to [blank] about me. He orgnoted [blank] details of his moderation decisions regarding my account. We know this because we shared information. I'm still, to this day, hearing from people about shit he said about me. And apparently he's shared stuff with Aaron too. Oooh come back Kiigan come back... I think we need accountability, not further obscurantism. And a little professionalism wouldn't hurt.

Respectfully:
weren't you saying a few days ago that Dansa "doesn't have matt's back" here on the Org the way you wished she would? And yet... ...there you and matt were, posting on a site (perhaps the very threads?) that contained current as well as ex Orgers calling Dansa a fat, ugly, stupid bitch? And not one word in defense of her. Oh, wait--you guys probably didn't see it!

nobody's thrown anybody to the sharks except for matt himself. you don't go and air out your super-personal matters for all to see and think everything will be automatically hunky-dory. yes, there will be people who will respect you for what you say, but of course there will be those other people who will twist your words and use them against you in order to destroy you, which is totally wrong. keep your private life exactly that...private. i feel no ill-will towards matt, but i do feel disappointed in him. if he hadn't put his affairs out in the public eye in the first place, then he wouldn't be in this predicament. mine.

Then we see him on a site packed with racist and homophobic remarks and wonder how can he moderate somebody when he at the house of ill repute? "Polywiggles"... ... C, perhaps you'd be taken a bit more seriously if you simply stated your point without resorting to personal attacks. 1) Regarding shausler, yes, I locked one of his poetry threads, way back in the summer of 2002. As I've admitted before, in hindsight, I wish I hadn't done so. Since then, shausler has sharing his poetry without any unwarranted moderator interference. 2) When I deactivated your account, I sent you an explanation by email. We then discussed the matter via several emails. It is simply untrue that I deactivated you "without an explanation." 3) Regarding cborgman, I never called you a liar. You accused cborgman of posting a racial slur. I asked you to provide me with a link so I could investigate. You did not do so. I tried to locate the alleged slur myself, but I couldn't find it. Without any evidence whatsoever, it wasn't proper for me to take any action against cborgman, and so I didn't. That's all. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

The things said about Dansa were unkind, I agree. Never suggested you should've moderated the site. People disagreed with one another in there, had discussions, so it was quite possible to say something as "matt", not a mod. I'm sayin' that I believe "watching each other's backs", a.k.a "teamwork", means speaking up whenever there's a wrongdoing towards one another, not just on this site, and not turning a deliberately blind eye. I'm also sayin' that, to get your back covered, you must inspire trust. Your participation in that site, even passively, most likely does not do that for Dansa.
