I Have Concerns About Some things in LS&R

If I feel that certain things/photographs/fetishes presented in the LS&R forum border on the illegal (like pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality or are just plain disgusting), or that some sexual descriptions are overly graphic, or that things presented in LS&R are not adhering to site rules of being tasteful--what do I do or say? Do I report the threads/posts as they occur, or send an orgnote to Mods with past and present examples cut and pasted?

I'm not at all a prude, I occasionally participate in the forum, and I think most of the posts and threads are appropriate. I don't want to come off as the "sex police", lol. But I'm concerned that a few people are using the forum as a pseudo-porn site. Sure, Prince was all about sex back in the day, but there are other sites that accomodate some of the hardcore porn or fetishes that some people seem into that might be more appropriate than here.

That was my beef with that forum when it first opened. People automatically assumed that because ben had created a forum JUST to discuss sex, that meant you could go hog-wild and post anything you wanted, without discretion.

ian put the warning up at the top after the issue was brought up, but nobody seems to heed it...

sigh

Same here, and why I was gone for 2 months. I tried having a discussion with Ben on this with the basis of the "What is the Org" FAQ, and I think I made my points quite well, especially with the point concerning what the purpose of the Org is, in Ben's approximate own words it is, among other things, "to foster the fan community". I don't see how the LS&R forum does this, at any rate it fosters in a despicable direction and is thus useless.
I still think it should be removed immediately, especially since borderline or outright illegal topics pop up entirely too often. It WOULD be a pity if patrons of this site saw fit to report the owner because of shit that's completely unrelated to Prince or his music.

Report the site to whom? And on what grounds? I don't think discussing illegal activities is illegal, just admitting you have done them is... and even then, it's touchy, cause you are without evidence... we need a lawyer... matt?

I find some of the threads and posts in the Religion and Politics forum much, much more offensive than ANYTHING I´ve seen in the L&R forum up to now.
It´s turning more and more into a biased , unsubstantiated bullshit propaganda forum .

I totally feel ya. I think racist and homophobic posts are way more offensive than anything I've read in LSR.
