In light of recent activities on the "other site"

I stipulate that Matt be de-moderatored, for a while at least. Being a member of that other forum and thus at least silently condoning the behaviour and statements of other people there, makes him unfit to moderate this site.

For further insight into this "other site", see KoolAid's signature or any of the highest threads in the GD.

yea, we definately need IP addy banning rather then screen name. case in point: aaron has been deactivated, and it hasn't even slowed his posting down, cause he has innermerable screen names. he's over there on GD posting now.

nod Which is why I brought it up here, for Ben to read. There is no use emailing him, then I'd only have to include 107972976 thread links. All the shit is right here for him to read.

Matt, resign on your own.

In case people are wondering why Cborgman's mentioning IP banning, it's cos I mentioned it on another thread before. It needs to be done, period.

Either that or close the site down.

I haven't done anything to warrant resignation. The site in question isn't my site. I'm not a moderator there. Indeed, it's a completely unmoderated forum. And I'm certainly not representing the .org there. I'm a member of the site solely because I enjoy interacting with Melissa, especially without the "baggage" of me being a moderator.

Needless to say, I do not condone discrimination. And if you view my posts there, you'll find nothing that suggests otherwise.
Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position.

Teacher the "other site" is near enough a sister site what with Matt and Ian being members and Ben assisting Teller in creating it.

I know, which leaves poor Dansa swimming pretty lonesome in a sea of shit with nobody close to hand her a life buoy.

To Matt, I'll say what I said to the others frequenting the cess pool; U took part in it without saying anything against it. Therefore guilty by association and an accomplice to the shit being said. As a lawyer I'm sure u're aware that being aware of a crime and not revealing it is a crime too.
If u're thinking that we're stupid or gullible enough to think "awww, how cute, he just wanted to be with his sweetheart", think again. I'm sure u both have instant messengers, a MUCH closer and more personal way of interacting online instead of posting on forums.

U DID do something wrong, and u're not in a position to keep telling other people what to do or how to behave anymore.

Not that criminal law has anything to do with this, but your legal analogy is easily refuted:

1) "Guilt by association" is a concept rejected by the law.

2) As for accomplice liability, "Mere presence at the scene of the crime and knowledge that a crime is being committed are not sufficient to allow an inference of participation. It is being present at the time and place, and knowingly doing some act to render aid to the actual perpetrator of the crime." McCorker v. State, 797 N.E.2d 257, 263 (Ind. 2003).

3) With a few exceptions (e.g., statutes requiring teachers to report suspected sexual abuse), failure to "squeal" about a crime is not illegal.

Melissa and I are free to communicate as we please, be it through online forums, instant messaging, paper letters sent through the mail, or hiring airplanes to skywrite messages of love.

"u're not in a position to keep telling other people what to do"... Oh, you mean like demanding that I resign? wink

Fine. Great. Let's discuss.

People need to realize this: once somebody has personally attacked Matt, he is in a bad position. It's hard to ever moderate them again, for fear of it looking personal. And he has had ZERO public support from the other mods. So, if he is an active moderator, he's fucked. If he doesn't moderate, he's fucked. And if he just tries to talk about his life and participate in the site, well, the more interesting bits of his life right now have met with ridicule and disgust on the org.

He knows that I'd support him leaving. I think, frankly, he hesitates to give people like Teacher the satisfaction of thinking that his leaving had something to do with them, when really, in MY opinion, his leaving would have everything to do with his treatment on the part of the other mods.

So?

You say one thing on one site, and then on the other site, sit back like a bump on a log instead of "intervening", since you're not a mod on there. Fact is, you still witnessed some things that you claim you wouldn't have "condoned" and you still stayed in the midst of it. Why would you want to be around that kind of atmosphere, anyway?? Don't you think that sorta makes you a hypocrite?

Teller picked our screenames, actually. Since you couldn't actually use the registration part of the site until recently, it was by invitation, and he sent screenames and passwords. He even set my avatar for me; not sure about other people. shrug
