About the only two people I can really imagine as moderators are Aaron and Lammastide.

I like most of you here, but there are the two that keep coming to mind when I think about the qualities that are needed.

I know Aaron can be controversial but I also think he's fair-minded and has broken the rules enough times to know where the boundaries are. He's also learned a lot from Ian. I think he'd do a great job, and would work well with Dan too.

Lammastide is new to me but I've been impressed by his posts. He also strikes me as a fair-minded individual who has the maturity required to handle being a moderator. He also doesn't seem to have got himself entangled in any Org dramas (not that I've seen anyway).

CBorgman would get my vote if he'd been here longer. I do like him but have some reservations about someone so new to the Org becoming a moderator.

I think a decision needs to be made soon though, because everyone is curious as to what's happening.

but... there is absolutely no chance of me being a mod. for one thing, it would be an incredibly unpopular move on ben's part. there are just too many people on here that dislike me or think i dislike them for it to go over well. (start your "campaign to keep aaron from being a moderator" threads any time now).

second, i don't want to do it. i like this site and have too much in my current status here to take on the responsibility. the times like it's felt like "work" to come here and post and go along with things are the times i've hated it, and if it actually BECAME work, i'd hate it even more. besides, when you become a moderator, they make you check your sense of humor and logic at the door, and you can't have any non-vanilla fun anymore. no thanks, not for me!

EXCUSE ME, MR. MATT, but those WERE NOT flames. I was stating an opinion by contrasting it to the way i generally treat those particular people. Had I been flaming them, I wouldn't have used the emoticon. Because it was absolutely not intended as a flame. It was a contrast in what I think about them vs. the way they strike me most of the time.

Cborgman for moderator, he has a nice way about him, is popular with the mentally sane and would prove a worthy foil for Matt's excellent current moderation while giving Dansa a rest.
