I know Ben used these to promote the new version of the org way back when. Was wondering what the system was & whether you think its worth me trying it??

Adwords works well for the people I know use them. I only actually used them for a couple months, then I decided I didn't need to pay for traffic, anyhow... what I need to do is optimize my site a bit, for better ranking in the engines. Not the "tricks", jut normal stuff like better layout, focus on content presentation, etc.

I'd say give it a shot, yeah!

Is it expensive or are there any catches?? The last pay per click company I used asked for a sum of money of your choosing & once that was spent, they didnt display anymore of your ads. Im worried that adwords may start spending cash I dont have

That's how adwords works too, or at least how it did when I last used it. Pretty sure it's the same now.
