I love the org!  The reason that this is taken so seriously is that some people use the same passwords for more than just the org. Surely, you can see how this would be problematic. She did not have access to your fucking password and anyone who knows anything wouldn't use the same password for everything. So she was able to guess two peoples passwords...big fucking deal. I'm guessing she was unable to guess yours so stop your whining. Can I use your ATM card, I promise not to remove any funds from your account, I only want to look at your balance...really no big deal, can I use it? I'll give you the card and we'll see if you are able to GUESS the password  If you are able to do it you can have my money.
Do you not read details? She guessed two peoples passwords and didn't have access to ANYONE elses passwords. hehe! She told me how she did it and there is a reason that she only did it with two people she was close to on the site. It was a glitch with the program and she knew the answer to the secret password questions of a couple of orgers so it gave her the TWO passwords. Do you really believe that she hacked into the site and has your password in a file somewhere ready to break into your account? . One person found a loophole in the system that would only work if you knew the person and that loophole has been closed. Besides who are you? As per the site rules - I am quite happy to discuss in private any concerns that any of you may have on this matter. I'll answer any question put to me, to the best of my ability.
However I don't see any point in discussing it in the forums, as it stirs up more bullshit accusations, private disputes that exist between some people on the site, and anyway, the security problem with the site was fixed by Ben many months ago. The situation was dealt with. Anyone who has further questions can Orgnote me or email me directly. Needless to say, Prince.org takes any attacks on our site's security very seriously, not least of all because such behaviour can compromise the privacy and safety of our users. In this instance, the person responsible was dealt with, and the people who helped us (the Prince.org staff) investigate the matter did so entirely out of concern for the privacy and safety of the people on this site. We had no interest in "punishing" anyone, but Prince.org will always take necessary action to protect the privacy of our users. Ian | |
