Sorry, but I don't like the idea of introducing "rank" and division among our members by making a big deal about how many posts someone has, or how long someone has been on the site. I never liked that stuff at all.

Anyway you can get info about a person from their profile, if that user has chosen to share their details with everyone. That's good enough! More than that creates a very cluttered look, and it would make for a slower site as well.

Those sites you mentioned are very pretty, but they are pretty slow compared to Prince.org. And the reason those other sites have it is that it is usually a feature provided as standard with off-the-shelf bulletin board systems.

I could add the feature, and probably make it fast, too. It's just not necessary IMO, and it certainly wouldn't make the site any *faster*.

Those other sites are cool, and "fast enough", but they don't do the volume of traffic we do, I'm quite sure. You can add a ton of "bells and whistles" if you don't serve up 15 million hits/month...
