If I remember right, togdog was the org when it first started up as the PPML back in the day


I think it was 98 when it became prince.org

Yep - the 'Great Crash' of May, 1997 resulted in a subsequent move with the PPML expanding to give birth to prince.org - check the FAQ under section 1.2:

Ooops... we goofed. That should be May 1998. Sorry.

Anyway, I believe that togdog.com was Ben's domain for various projects, not just the PPML. But yes, togdog.com did host the PPML at one point.

no i think it was 1997,because i remember we all moved to sevenmag's chat for quite a while, hammer's closed down soon after that too, any of tha serious old schoolers remember that?...i really believe it was 1997.

Nope--it was 1998 when we had the "great crash." It happened right around the time I graduated from college, which was May 1998. After downtime of several months, but less than a year, we launched the .org on January 1, 1999.
