Now that the WORLD has shifted over - some of us using it for work, work-related meetups and so on, I was wondering - when are us ORGERS gonna see each other in person??!! ...Last time I posted here about this, all I got were weird GIFfies posted in response - WTF??

I was kind of thinking, we'll have a chat "room", or whatever you call these things, just....Running, 24x7 - people just come and go when they please - kind of like the text chat on the home page of the Org itself. Would be helpful, or even NECESSARY, cause we're all in various timezones around the globe - for *me* especially, considering most people here will be Americans, you guys'll be awake when it's late night for me, and so on.....

I both like the idea and think luv4u got it right with the googly-eyed gif. I'm not sure I want to know what people look like or have others know what I look like. Written communication eliminates rash judgments we make about others based on their appearance/ our internal prejudices. Your idea might be a great idea, but I'm going to fence-sit for a while. There is a chatroom here, as you point out. I've never used it. I'm not sure what the customs are about it. Do people walk into a chat that's ongoing? I saw that one was happening the other day. I didn't go in. Are chats usually pre-arranged meetings or are they spontaneous happenings?

The rules of the org apply to the chat room. You can come into chat join in the convo if you want. They are usually spontaneous where folks drop in to chat with others. They can also be pre-arranged chats if some people have other things to do in RL and arrange to meet again later in the chat.

Sometimes it may be empty due to different time zones and folks with RL. Folks drop in throughout the day.

Yes, I have had the same thought myself. But only text is carrying things too far, IMO. Fine! The only thing I can suggest then is that we meet (whoever wants to), on OrgChat, and then whoever wants can take it to Jitsi....? What say....?

We did tonight and watched The Sheila E. Show the Grammy Salute to Prince together. It was fun. Ben is hysterical, and TuffyCat loves her vodka & Crystal Lite.
