I was active on here years ago then left because of the lack of news & above all the toxic few who are still around...their knowledge is great but their attitudes......! I'll keep this brief! Would love the mods input.

Problem number 1: Hardcore fans scaring newer fans away.

Anyway I came back after P passed to share my grief & for a few months it seemeded we ALL came together. Sadly this is no longer the case. A LOT of newer/younger fans of P I notice were torn apart & still are for daring to ask previously asked questions, not researching questions etc by the usual suspects. The Mods meanwhile..rather like the Republicans sit idly by twiddling their thumbs! Yes it's only words & I couldn't give a rats ass but younger fans will run a mile & great contributors are probably lost.

Problem number 2 - serious lack of content:

This is a community & we should be sharing / contributing more news, that includes posting links to articles, being allowed a free space to share an opinion without fear of ridicule [& YES that does include the right to fucking debate the configuration of the Emancipation album for the millionth time!] The MODS so this on a voluntary basis around their own personal lives - we all get that. They have given us a space BUT that space is not being filled.

There is so much happening in the Purple world right now, e.g. the associated artists page has little relevance to the volume of activity out there. This site is ultimately only as good as the content we provide.

Problem number 3 - total lack of engagement with those who have worked with Prince.

I have to say that Casey Rain delivers truly exceptional content across his social media platforms & as a mod here it would be great if the artists he connects to are given a space on here? What happened to all the Q&A's that used to happen?

The solutions are all rather obvious but I think it's time up for the org in the face of some great social media where we can connect & interact with Prince associates directly.

1. People get scared of a lot of things, don't concern yourself with young fans unless it's to show them what you've learned. If a hard core fan scares you, it sounds like you have more to learn about life than you do about Prince. Political references sounds like "the law of unrelated things" demonstrating a confirmation bias and does not help if you want people to listen to you.

2. Content here has been provided by the people who frequent this site, lead by example if you're as passionate as it seems. Social media has given everybody a voice to share their opinions (including ridicule) and it's your choice to listen to it or not. Having a debate and listening to both sides in order to further understand the topic is also possible on the Org.

3. I've read and watched more about associated Prince artists here then I have anywhere else. It's a community of people doing what they can but as time goes on it seems only the hard core fans are the people doing this work. "Art, Podcast and fan content" forum on this site have a lot of interviews with the people that were connected to Prince but I don't see many responses.

As someone who has been here since the site started I have witnessed both change and death. These are part of life and are inevitable for all of us. If you want to motivate and encourage people (I think that is your point here) I would suggest doing it with your actions here, nobody is stopping you.

I guess Latin gave up. Kept getting banned and probably just threw in the towel. Latin always posted a lot of good stuff. He is missed.

I haven't posted in quite a while until I came back a couple of weeks ago, so my apologies if this has been answered b4, but what happened to the picture threads? I miss seeing some pics of Prince that I had never seen. Is that too much trouble to start up again in another section of the board?
