Can someone please explain to me why these mentally deranged people who get their Jolies out of troubling, baiting distrurbing and disrespecting people , are allowed to continuously post ?

I'd point out that the term "troll" gets thrown around here but there isn't universal consensus about who those trolls are. Usually the troll is someone who annoys/disagrees with whoever is hurling that epithet. I think you'd find a surprising range of opinions on who fits the bill.

Generally I just try not to engage with those who I find annoying or not adding meaningfully to site discourse. Or if I think that a post clearly violates stated rules, I might consider the Report to Moderator function. But that's just what I do.

I see some of them NEVER contribute anything Posative, never talk about Princes Music, NEVER COmment on anything but the conspiracy threads...

I HAVE reported the one thats upset me the most to you..

but only once...I try and tolerate and ignore but today I just had enough...

Whenever others call them out on it, the troll resorts to namecalling particulary by accusing the others of being racist. If it would help to report race baiting offtopic posts, I would gladly do so. All the black/white talk is a downer when it has nothing to do with the thread topic.

Lovejunky---- I think I know who you're talking about. Especially when you said they always try to show everyone "how smart they are." -- Yeah. That person makes the org pretty much suck nowadays. I've also noticed that people are very respectful of him when he posts something that's already been posted (which I've seen him do) and things he's gotten wrong (even though he seems to think he's some sort of org genuis) but he doesn't give anyone else the same respect. I've also wondered why no one has told him off.

I reported him ..had to do it about 7 times ..finally his comments were SNIPPED....but hes still here , although he seems to have developed some kind of softwear that allows you to selectively block people...and he has blocked me...hahahaha...Fine with me...Still a Mystery as to WHY he doest get his face slapped Publically...

I had an orgnote from another Member who thinks that his particticular troll is personally KNOWN by the Mods..I dont know whats going on...

but aside from anything else...his Profile pic says a LOT about him...

I have come to the conclusion this person is mentally ill....

I went to both links...

The article from NY Times was appalingly shocking and enlightening....

It seems that a TROLL on the internet is just as scary as the Mythical ones I learned about in my childhood..

Completely without empathy or compassion...

Ugly and Despicable even...

Im going to be more vigilant about reporting them....

There are those..some have been around for years it seems...and they are tolerated because they are funny sometimes ????????
