If we have to spend the next 10 years discussing Purple Jedi's pina coladas, and KingBad's cockroaches, I'm game.....

All we have now is each other. And all the albums. And the Vault. From which they better NOW start fucking RELEASING stuff. On a REGULAR basis. Hear me Warner? (or whoever fucking else?)

Dammit Prince. Why'd ya have to go?

I'd like to think the Org will remain. Besides the fact fandoms outlive their artists by nature, this sort of place has long since grown beyond Prince as its exclusive raison d'être.

I was actually thinking the same thing. I hope the site does continue on and people do stick around, as it's a place I've very much enjoyed hanging out at for this past decade-and-a-half. Even the people who I don't agree with, I'd be sorry to see them leave, or learn that they'd suffered ill fortune in their lives.

I guess the dynamic may change with the sad fact that there will be never again be any new shows or genuinely 'new' albums (although we may well see a lot of new releases, depending on what happens next), but that could mean things change in ways that may be rather heartening too - like the way those who share a loss can sometimes find they appreciate each other's presence more than before, as they're reminded of the finitude of all things, good or bad, in this world.

Hold onto your soul, y'all. We got a long way to go.

i can see no reason to stop this thing....

as a matter of fact there may be a grand influx

of old orgers comin back, and new orgers

wantin to know what it was like and how they missed this.

even though i may be an asshole, in the org

i'm like an asshole cousin, uncle, grand pa...

we are a bit of a family here.

I havent posted in 2 years but had to come back for this, of course...whether our fandom grew or waned over the years, the fact is that the majority of us originally came here for him...there have been beautiful, lasting friendships & relationships (and a few babies) made here...that says something

My life would be empty if I wasn't able to KingBAD every now & then...

Today is not that day.

the music carries on and there are more recordings not yet heard from this great man. The site wont die because Prince's spirit lives on

Yes I agree. There are Elvis sites, The Beatles sites, and so on and so on. It is still a site dedicated to Prince.

We aren't going anywhere.

Obviously the tone changes. Whether that's simply an organic thing or whether there are specific changes that we feel need to be made is something that we need to have a site-wide discussion about but that's further down the line.

Right now we are a community united by grief. But what we'll always be is a community united by love.

I've been with the Org since the PPML days. Different user names here and there. I've gotten mad at people, sick of people, closed my account, re-opened...all that. But when I heard the news, I didn't jump on twitter or TMZ or CNN. The first site I tried to open was the Org. This has been a part of my daily life since the late 90s!!! I don't know anyone, but I love you all.

But I was thinking about this in general. Stuff like death changes people, alot of times for the better. Hopefully most will continue with that.
