Is it possible to somehow block (i.e., avoid seeing) posts from a certain user?

Other internet forums I've used provide a function to effectively "blacklist" users, so you don't have to look at their useless posts.

Does this functionality exist? If not, would it be possible to add it without a lot of work?

That feature does not exist on the org. Never has.

If someones posts bother you........... simply don't read them or ignore the poster. If you feel they are breaking the rules then report them so a moderator can step in and review the thread.
