Can we get a temporary (1 week according to US/UK, 1 year according to everyone else) forum "IRAQ/UN/WMD" to try and clear out the rubbish from this one. I'm struggling to find creationists to argue with amongst all of these warmonger/peacenik 'discussions'.

Or maybe a longer-term solution would be an "America is Great/No it isn't" forum??

I understand your frustration, really I do. But that is the reason politics was separated from the General Discussion forum to begin with.

I was getting tired of the war threads before the war began...it was really tedious reading the same crap over and over, but now that the war is on, it makes sense that the P&R would be filled with threads about it as there is news unfolding on a daily basis.

I agree that politics should be separated from general discussion, and the P&R forum has been a really good addition. But it's got to the point that politics needs to be separated from religion, or at least war does. Sure the war is important, although quite what bombarding us with news and 'expert' opinion on the war is supposed to achieve I don't know - it sure isn't doing my natural optimism any good.

And it means that my gloating over dubya's (just as important) halved tax cuts is going to get lost amongst the latest on iraq...

Sorry but this is what our members want to discuss at the moment, and I don't see a need to stifle that or to relocate it. This is the whole point of the forum. After it's all over, it will be something else. Have patience.
