Further to the comment above, the concert forum rules are also being reviewed to try to provide greater clarity for the future too.

there was nothing wrong with wanting to talk about the show, it was not a compete secret, already been put out there. What you gonna do, start censoring about what you see? It was a bloody concert! i respect this site, what would we do without it? I think respect was shown before the concert was played. But then they starting deleting threads on it even after it had taken place. And its like "wait a minute" . You are allowed to discuss things in the uk arent you? I think, like alot of people, it was going too far. It was for charity for gods sake, unless there is something underhanded going on, what is really the problem?

If this site gets sued by Prince, it is gone forever. Unless, of course, YOU want to pay the legal bills.

Put up or shut up, as the saying goes.

I've been on this site since Day 1. You've been here two years, so you weren't around for the debacle that led to Prince's recording of "P.F.U.N.K." Maybe you don't know Prince wrote that song in part about the Org. But trust me when I say - Prince loves the Org but will sue it off the face of the Earth in a heartbeat if he thinks the Org has violated the trust and agreement reached back in those days.

When the mods err on the side of caution, I can absolutely assure you it is done for one and only one reason - to avoid any possible litigation from Prince, which would result in the immediate shut-down of the Org.

Ben is not going to pay money out of his own pocket to defend the Org against Prince's phalanx of attorneys, and neither should he. No one pays Ben a dime to access the Org, so he'd be the only person affected financially. Therefore, unless you want to fund his legal fees, trust him and the mods when they do things like this.

Fuck me... The paranoia around here is ridiculous. All because of one man who, lets face it, is a basket case. It aint healthy being around anyone or anything remotely connected to Prince anymore.

It was a semi-private event where they graciously allowed some fans to purchase tickets on the proviso that a certain level of secrecy was maintained. Some threads appeared here about the event and we were asked to remove them. That's what they wanted and we saw no reason to be antagonistic about it, so we complied.

It's not an every day occurrence, so there's no procedure to follow in this instance. There's no right or wrong in this scenario, but given that this was a charity event, we decided the right thing to do would be to comply with their wishes. Some people might feel we acted appropriately and some may not. That's life.

How can people be sure their time on this site is well-spent? Did Prince's attorneys threaten legal action? Transparency is key.

The issue at hand seems to be the mods began deleting threads with no notice or policy, feeding the perception that Prince was attacking a fan site (again). Your lack of communication, policy, and clear way forward seems to have earned a fair amount of mistrust.

Like I said - put your money where your mouth is and front the legal fees, and maybe Ben would take on Prince and his legal team for you. I doubt it, but if you've got the bucks then feel free to give it your best shot.

Frivolous lawsuits with no standing get tossed out all the time. Quit feeding the paranoia. It's one thing to cave to the request of a charity. It's another thing entirely to pretend like Prince's lawyers are operating the fucking Death Star or something.

LMAO, do you think Ben can just send an email to a judge and get a "frivolous" lawsuit dismissed? Or do you realize that to even categorize a lawsuit as "frivolous" requires at least one legal motion and at least one hearing in front of a judge? Now, who do you think would write that motion for Ben and represent him in front of that judge - keeping in mind that Ben would be going up against some of the best, most expensive lawyers Prince could find? Do you think Ben could afford to let it all ride on the talent of some lawyer he finds in a shopping mall?

Prince could easily force Ben to run up $10,000 in legal fees just answering a lawsuit. Big companies lawyer little companies to death all the time. They pursue "scorched Earth" legal strategies that the little companies just can't afford to fight. Prince would do the same thing to Ben before you could blink.

Trust me - Prince's lawyers ARE operating the Death Star.

In that case, we better shut down this website. Because it can no longer be what it purports to be.

Where have you been? We've been operating under this truce with Prince since at least November 7, 2007 (the day Prince recorded P.F.U.N.K.). This is nothing new and we've been just fine for more than 7 years.

That was my worry, for the future, are promoters going to offer carrots , ie tickets, for the chosen few. So that real fan sites like this be quiet? This is a Prince discussion site. And should be kept free that way. The promoters should not have even asked. You can say no. This was Princes first show in a while, when he had just shut down his on line accounts. So there was a lot of interest in it from us true fans. Like is he still with 3rdeyegirl? Does he still have a fro? (joke)So , it was abit cruel to keep shutting down the threads and posts even after the event.

also. how many people behind this web site got tickets? Was it to keep the event quiet? of course stuff like this happens all the time , from all walks of life. Its just this is a open prince discussion forum, and us fans don't want it to change in any way.

Nobody was given any tickets. It was a charity event. Everybody had the opportunity to purchase tickets, it's just that the link to buy them wasn't heavily publicized.

Of course we could have said no, but why antagonize a charity trying to raise money for autism? Prince did these shows for free. They didn't have to allow any non celebrities to purchase tickets if they didn't want to.

It's not much to ask that the show be kept on the downlow.
