Has the Org had its day now that Twitter is around. Which do u prefer?

Seems that way to me, thread is not motivated by the negativity on here btw just that Twitter has a much wider span of opinions, is much more up to date on news, you can actually tweet directly to the band / 3EG & the journos that engage with Prince etc. P.Org is an institution run mostly very well indeed [& for free?] however it now seems to have been overtaken by a really great form of both direct & immediate media. My pref by a mile is Twitter. How about you?

Fuck Twitter.

I've been on the org since it started, since the days before it was even a message board, when you could only respond to news articles.

I love this place.

Yeah, for how long. Until he gets bored of 3EG, or twitter, or both.

Official sites kind of have a habit of going tits up after not to long. Track record kind of speaks for itself. I guess at least twitter, fb and youtube are free from hosting bills so I guess that's on their side compared to previous endeavours, but they're also wide open to public comment - freespeech and Prince web-presence don't really go together.

I totally agree with Mattyjam. Fuck Twitter. Never been on it, never will. I've been around since the days of the message board too. There are some things about this site that I hate, but I love some things too. All the racists bullshit by the usual suspects gets on my nerves, but I love how I can count on this place for up to date news on Prince and great pictures too.

Same here, minus the probably... I can't stand Twitter, won't use Twit Speak, and will never use it.

Twitter hands down for up-to-date news.

People don't need to hate on Twitter so much. You don't have to engage in it. I don't. I just use it for news and to follow certain bands or tv shows I like. I don't allow followers and never post anything, but I check it a few times a day. My local paper posts news moreso on that than they do their own website.

There´s no point in comparing sites like the org, Twitter and Facebook.

By the way...why does the org have an FB "like" button? lol

That´s annoying as hell. I like to keep my favorite sites separated from each other.

What´s the point of that button?
