I've just realized that all I see are threads about Prince's business strategies, whether he will or should or can or want to have hits or not, the sales figures of the 2 new albums, the money they will make, the way the albums are being promoted on the media, whether they are popular outside of the core fanbase, etc.

Obviously many people here don't care about the music, don't even listen to it anymore, don't have an opinion about it. Still, they come and make comments about well... everything ELSE but the music.

I don't mean to blame anyone for anything. I just find this is sad. I wouldn't mind a thread devoted to promotion and sales figures, but we have like 25 different threads discussing basically the same thing, and few about music or the new album's content. Another thing is that many of those threads are just bait: one doesn't create a thread about something that has 10 other threads about it on the main page for any other purpose than baiting. I think this is sad.

I said it before but at this point the situation is reaching such a chaotic situation that I really believe the mods should clean that mess up, regroup the few topics that have 25 threads about them into a few selected thematic stickies and systematically lock anything that looks like bait or dupe.

Blame Prince. He's spent the past 20 years or so obsessing over money and sales figures etc. and ignored his music. Still does.
