The org died officially when fauxie disappeared. Imago couldn't keep it alive by himself. Fauxie is back now but imago is too busy over at Facebook. Stay tuned to see the next exciting development!

Poor fauxie comfort The reason GD is in it's current state is because ex-orgers think they are above it now and boast about how their lives are otherwise fulfilled and they simply don't have the emotionally desperate void the org used to have pride of place inside of. If they all came back and did what they do best there would be nothing to pooh-pooh about.

TRANSLATION: Facebook & Twitter are the blame for the ultimate downfall of the org.

I've been saying THAT^ much for the last few years now. And also, I'm convince that most ex-orgers can NOT identify with Prince like they did in the 1980's & 1990's.

i come here almost everyday and look around, don't post that much though. i do think facebook has a lot to do with why it's kinda dead around here much of the time. most everyone is connected up to one another there, and chat, meet-up, etc....i think about half of my fb friends are from the org. this website will always have a very special place in my heart, and i will always check it out for as long as it's around. yes

I'm not good at setting my privacy there and everyone end up finding out about everything anyway. Maybe j should sit down one day and sort it all out so j can remain at least semi private.

Imago's not here. Who's here now?

Convince me there's still vitality here on the org. Ppl met and wed and had kids from this place. Folks became firm friends in real life. Hairy bears, men with poodles, and JerseyKRS were photoshopped to the great amusement of all who witnessed it.

What's good now, org? I want to come back. Give me a reason, please! You changed my life. I want to go another round. I'll never forget ya, org.

Unzip your pants and I'll give you a reason. evillol

The whole of the ORG is like this now. It's kinda sad and whilst I was never on here everyday, I'll still come back on here because I like topics in the music section. However, I only come on here when Iam bored and need to unwind, and thats all this place has ever been to me LOL

What I don't get is why people leave? Are they on here too much perhaps? I miss a few of the music people, and infact, I use to get orgnotes from other orgers just a few years ago, but get none now LOL.

I hope this place continues on, as I hate facebook and twitter and all that bollocks. I like my privacy and this place is great for that. Social media is not for me, despite my mates constantly on my back to get onto facebook.

You can still have your privacy over on Facebook. Just do the same thing over there, that you do over here. Don't use your real name, don't put your real picture in your profile pic, and don't tell any family or coworkers that you have a Facebook page. I use my same name over there that I use over here and the orgers found me and once a few make it onto your friends list, then others find you through the posts you make on other people's pages and you also find other orgers yourself that way.

The org and Facebook remind me of how things turn out in real life. The org reminds me of a nightclub that used to be the hot spot but still exists but has been taken over by The Mickey Mouse Club. Just look over in the Music: Non-Prince section and you'll see it. That place used to be jumping but now the majority of the threads are about current artists and the threads about older artists are about the artists that are sooooo popular and their music has been worn out and played to death over the years to the point that everyone and their mother has heard of them and is sick of hearing of them.

.

Facebook reminds me of friends that used to go to the popular nightclub now gathering at each others homes and having house parties rather than going out because the Mickey Mouse Club has taken over....much like clubbing in real life these days. Every once in awhile, some of the old crowd will go out just to see if things have gotten back to jumping again and then get bored and go back to their house parties with the crowd they used to hang with back when the club used to be jumping.

.

As for the org being open to everyone, that's a good thing though because every once in a while, you need somebody to fight and argue with because that's what keeps life interesting. lol

I think the 2012-2013 org is a reflection of the world we're living in

Prince forum= pointless= the guy is DONE AND REDONE, and folks are just tired of talking about how great SOTT is or how challenging DM was...

Music forum= sterile= new pop artists suck, veteran artists are done

General forum= jaded= we're living in a rather dark-crappy era and I guess folks don't feel like posting like they used to...besides, there has been this silent (but steady) turn of the GD forum to the "prude/religious" area...I know what I'm talking about

P&R: boring = no wars, no stupid whitebread president to hate, nothing, too depressing/tiresome reading about pseudo-solutions for the sorry-ass state of the economy...
