does any1 else think Prince has sum ownership/control this site?....its a conspiracy the reason im saying this is......a woman awhile ago posted a story about how she went 2 a lovesexy concert and met P.....he wouldnt sign her LP...but she got in his limo.....and she said what transpired after it was bad...but we didnt get the rest of the story unfortunatley because the post was quickly removed.....then another topic was posted of a sound recording of 1 of princes ex-engineers called "Michael"....telling personal stories about P....that was removed also.........I mean ok I can undertsnad the shit about bootleggs.........he dosent have the copyrights 2 peoples storys!!.....what happened 2 freedom of speech!!???? | |

I thought about that. It's supposed to be a fan site, run by fans, but a few of the topics started on here had been deleted that painted Prince in a bit of a negative light. But, this article in question about the girl and the Lovesexy concert did seem to come across as smearing, and to keep the site out of trouble with the powers that be, they removed it to keep those powers that be from seeking to shut the site down like so many others. The dead Internet is on so much thin ice what with other sites/Facebook pages/YouTube videos disappearing for whatever reasons that the keepers of the org removes scandalous posts to prevent a backlash from his lawyers. | |

Everytime spomething is deleted (thread wise) the site becomes souless and vacuous just like the artist we are here to talk about.. fucking sucks....But like him, it will spell their downfall | |

Well, the site rules DO state that there shouldn't be starting of rumors and that claims should be backed-up - this is enforced particularly in the Concerts forum. But I do understand the need to curb rumor-mongering in the PMM and AA forum too. Remember that "Disabled Girl" thread? Freedom of speech is one thing, but having a vendetta or warped sense of reality is another - legally, it can be called Libel, and that is not protected by Freedom of Speech. And no matter how many eyewitnesses posted to contradict her story, there were many people who believed the OP and did not bother to read any of those other eyewitness posts.
On the other hand, places like the org are for fun, and instantly deleting those batty threads make this place less lively. There was that funny groupie thread - did not believe that oedipusrexy story one bit, and it did eventually get locked, but it was a little bit of fun. So maybe the mods can lighten up a little.

Good points. I think this site should just be about the music and the artist, not a venue for some disgruntled associate to vent frustrations that may or may not be true. The young lady that posted a while back about her experience during the Lovesexy era should have kept that to her circle. It made little sense to come here and post it, unless she was just seeking attention. | |

In direct answer to the removal of the thread concerning a reported night with Prince.
The thread content was reported by an orger and removed for considered in relation to the site rules. I decided (with some discussion amongst the moderation team) that the posts - if true - crossed the line in terms of invading privacy (as referred to in the rules). One's freedom to post something here is up to Ben and the Mods. I do not really accept the privacy argument. But again it is Ben's house and Ben's rules. So it is really Ben's right to free speech that gives him the power to limit in anyway he sees fit others ability to post.
