Prince's music is taking a turn for the interesting. And thankfully, we don't need to check prince.org to find out about it. While it's turned into a cesspool of people looking to score some zingers and let out some pent up aggression on the unwitting naive few, the function prince.org served got spread out to tmblr accounts, fan-pages, and twitter handles. Maybe prince was half-right; the internet may not be dead, but sites like these seem to be close.

Ok, now that's he's gone, why do people ALWAYS say that the org is going to close/get shut down/whatever nearly everytime a new album or website comes along? By now it should be obvious that it's not gonna happen.

Regardless of what the name of the site and the contents of it's front page may imply, this is not really a Prince fansite per se, but rather a community that just happens to exist on the internet. The Prince part is pretty incidental at times (as anyone who frequents General Discussion or P&R can tell you)

or the detailed background info on album periods, background information on songs, recordings, band members etc and get easy discussion to go along with the enthusiasm, pictures and it all be stored in 1 place

I don't do Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram or anything else except Facebook. And my Facebook account isn't the place I go for Prince news.

So this is the place for me, and I'm thankful for it.
