Question for Ben or moderators

I'm sure you've answered this question before but....how do you feel about the current vibe of the org..or what it's become? I mean when you started this I'm sure you had some ideas of what you wanted it to be and I'm just curious if it's become what you expected. Do you still enjoy coming here and reading the what has become daily Prince bashing? For breaking news on Prince and for discovering new artist I'm still a daily visitor. I'm a mind, body and spirit kind of guy and its tough filtering through the debasing, hateful overly critical commentary. I just hate that all your hard work is being wasted on releasing so much negative energy toward one person and those who appreciate his music.

Just wondering if you feel the same.

I love the org and always will.

However, I am upset that GD isn't as much of a "free-for-all" as it used to be. I feel that freedom of expression should be a key goal in GD with as little intervention as possible.

In what way do you think it's not a free for all? I never remember to much moderation going on there

It's hard to pin down... not nearly as many bizarre topics as there used to be, the photoshopping threads were outrageous and fantastic... Some of the "Characters" that once made up the revolving cast have disappeared... It's just not as revolutionary as it was 5-6 years ago...

Yeah, I think it's still the same stuff happening, there are some crazy thread that pop up, I think it really is just a different crew of people

I think the most moderation that goes on there is a misplaced topic

You can't be "revolutuionary" forever. At some point you run out of things to talk about. Some people leave then and some others take their place and the cycle starts all over again.

I don't feel the same at all. I do agree thst there some people on this site who do nothing but bash Prince, but it's only some. Not in any way many people, let alone most.

Actually I feel that this constant complaining about other complainers, or bitching against the bitches, is just as negative. It creates an atmosphere AS IF there is really something wrong about this place, but there is not.

Perhabs not letting your mind be so burdened by whatever some asshole says about Prince would be a good idea?

The Org is my FIRST Prince Online Fan site when I first had internet access ( thru Yahoo.com ). prince.org was FIRST over Love4oneanother.com ( back when that site was on-line ).

The Org's a great fan / fam site it's the MEMBERS that get on my nerves MOST of the times ... LoL

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

yup.

i really look forward to prince opening another of his doomed sites. it keeps the fams who can hear nothing against their god busy for a while.

of course, then he inevitibley closes them down, and the fams come running back to the org determined to remake it into their purple utopia.

I remember the night of the mass exodus of folks from NPGMC chatroom who all popped into the org chatroom. I will never forget witnessing that smile

site isn't what it was 10 years ago, that's for sure.

I suppose it's more civil. But that's because hardly anyone here any more has a personality. Everyone worth talking to got banned or fed up somewhere along the way.

This post is bullshit.

The reason why the org is so popular is because folks did not trust to lick-ass comments on Luv41another.com or npgmc.com and the org provided more objective news.

By far the most vitriol filled comments I've read in P M&M have come from people who love everything Prince records and take it upon themselves to bash those who dare have their own opinions. And, I'm not exaggerating here. Many of those hateful people have been perma-banned, yet the ones you claim are being 'overly' negative are still here.
