well, on the General Discussion forum anyway. on both the top of the forum and on the page that has links to all the different forums, it still says that the GD is the place to talk about politics.

also, it'd be great if they'd put the name of the moderators next to each forum too, just so we know who we're supposed to deal with. for example, i sent Lavishh a complaint about something in the P&R forum once, and she said she couldn't do anything about it. knowing who to talk to came in handy when the names used to be next to the forum names.

Neither did I. We used to have a public listing of the moderators "assigned" to each forum, but we dropped it because all moderators have access to moderate all forums (or at least I think they do).

Maybe LaVisHh isn't handling stuff in the P&R forum because she just joined the team and is focusing her efforts on a few forums for now... but I don't know. That's just speculation on my part.

Back to the point of the thread - yes the forum descriptions need changing.

As for which moderators moderate what forum - there is good reason not to include that information on the site. Abusers of the site may feel they can get away with something on a particular forum because a mod they have been dealing with doesn't have admin rights to that forum. That clearly is unworkable.
