I personally don't really care about Janet or Latoya. A lot of people who post on this website seem to come here to talk about their personal issues, political views, making friends or whatever else that has nothing to do with Prince, rather than Prince's music itself. So I wonder if creating a few Latoya gossip threads is really a big deal.

I also don't like how people need to put down Prince when bring up Michael or Beatles, but constructive criticism or at least an interesting personal insight, I appreciate it. (If some "obvious" disrespectful trolls are the problem, warn them or ban them. Don't they usually stand out?) And to be honest, even people put down Prince on this forum are never as bad as Prince:Music&more anyways. There are so many people in that sub-forum who have nothing nice to say about his current materials, and it's not like they ever give in-depth reviews on his newer songs either. Rather, for the majority of them, it doesn't go much further than the stale mindset, 'WB era was unparalleled, and the rest is boring and disposable.'

I agree, but if this is what fans feel and wanna talk about the negativity, then so be it. It's still about Prince. The MJ sticky is made specifiallly for MJ FANS, u will not see any other people posting there, cause remember this is not a GENERAL music site, it's a Prince site.

I am more likey gonna post on any other artist's thread than the MJ FANS sticky! The General Discussion site is for lounging, it is still occupied by Prince fans, and not by people who wanna just post any rubbish. I'm sure u understand what i am talking about, this is really not difficult to understand.

MJ fans I've encountered on this website, are all fans of Prince as well. I'm also a huge fan of both of them. The thing is, I was able to have interesting discussions with some people who are fan of both, or even, some MJ fans who don't really like Prince too much. They seem to be open minded about the new material and able to give interesting insights.

I'd personally much rather stay in music discussion sub-forum than go to general discussion and pretend as if I actually care about people's personal problems. Call me crazy, but somehow, reviewing concerts and albums of other artists seem much more relevant to Prince than talking about, I don't know, "my boyfriend is a jerk"! type of thread.

#1 I hope none of what you said about being being immature, attacking, bashing, etc.. was directed at me. I haven't done any of that.

#2 My problem is nothing to do with Janet or Latoya threads, etc.. my problem is that some MJ fans are giving the mods more reasons to keep the MJ sticky. If with the sticky, we can have 10 MJ topics posted in the last 10 days, what would happen if the sticky was removed? Probably even more Michael Jackson threads.. that would be flooding, which as stated in the site's rules.. flooding the forums with tons of threads about one artist will lead to a sticky being created. If all MJ fans could not constantly talk about him, and not flame/insult, etc. people, we wouldn't have a need for the sticky.

#3 People complain about Latoya, Janet, etc.. threads because someone always comes in and makes it about Michael.

This conversation is getting funnier. Let me clarify: This is not a music forum, i know there are awesome forums that discuss nothing but music of all sorts. This here is a Prince forum. This means it's for people for whom Pince is number one. The Non Prince music section is for Prince fans with additional tasted i.e. MJ for example, but it is still a Prince forum. Why does this matter for me? Cause I am a Prince fan, and he is the number one, the reason why I come here. If anyone who is a fan of both MJ and Prince disagrees with this, as I said earlier should frequent an MJ forum more often. Why is this so difficult to understand?

They all get locked by the mod, thats the way its always been, One would think people would figure it out and stop. Instead they flood and then see how long they can keep the thread open. Thinking they've fought the good fight and mj would be proud of their efforts or some nonsuch.

For some, maybe for you, that may be the case but I hope you know the majority of them are mature enough to know that discussions are discussions, and at the end of the day, people simply don't care much about what they hear on the internet and stick to what they originally believe. The purpose of discussion is to hear others opinions most of the time, not to brainwash others. I don't like it when people present their opinions as if they're facts but hey, what can you do about it but ignore?

The problems are:

#1 People post about Michael Jackson too much. There have been 10 threads in the past 10 days (this number is excluding the half-dozen+ Jackson 5/Jacksons threads) ... 10 threads have been posted in the last ten days, despite the fact that each of those threads clearly broke site rules. How many threads would there be if MJ topics weren't against the rules?

#2 Certain MJ fans constantly flame anyone with negative opinions about Michael; and MJ threads almost always get out of hand (lots of off-topic, trolling, flaming, etc.)

Anybody who pays attention to my posts knows I'm a fan of Michael's music. I don't support the sticky, but I don't support flooding the forums with MJ either..

#1 I understand sometimes it's too much. I think that's why at the end of the day, I like MJ sticky

#2 Then they should be warned and banned, that's what the mods are for, right? I simply ignore people who can't put their opinions out without aggressively mocking others.
