I think you mean "Music: Non-Prince"? It's probably because they love talking about the Jacksons, but can't talk about the important one.

This is not the main Prince section, its the NON Prince Music section... so I dont get the aggression some members here have with posters who enjoy talking about the Jacksons. There is an MJ sticky but I dont think all related Jacksons should go into it.

Nope, not so. People complain and luv4u shuts down dupe topics on the same artist, no matter who it is. Frankly none of those artists get half the threads that the collective Jacksons do here and their fans aren't half as aggressive and rude, in my observation.

IMHO, the only worse fans than Jackson ones are Beatleheads. Maybe if y'all behaved a bit better people would be more tolerant.

Maybe if yall as in the Prince fans were more respectful in music conversations especially related to Michael some would. I love it how yall act like you posters dont instigate alot of the hostility. lol When you do it EVERY time.

The disrespect has gotten completely out of hand and Ive notice even in Whitneys case before and after she passed. Its one thing to have an opinion but when some members intentionally make baited comments to clearly get a rise out of some of the MJ fans here I dont see how you would be surprised with their reactions...neutral

At the end of the day, this is a PRINCE forum even if this is the non Prince side. Prince's fans are on their own turf. How many Prince fans invade Jacksons forums? How many Madonna stickies are there are Jacksons forums?

I have no interest in Jacksons forums, so I have no idea (tho I suspect it wouldn't be tolerated)...but I've never seen anything like this on a site dedicated to one specific artist where the fans of another artist are so pushy.

If someone flames someone, report it. If you flame back, you broke the rules, too.

If Jacksons fans ignored the "haters", there wouldn't be flame wars, and certain threads (like the Prince/MJ and Madonna/MJ threads) wouldn't get locked.

I do think bans need to be handed out a little more often.. that would definitely keep things more in line.

Exactly. most of these get shut down cuz they turn ugly. luv4u many times will let a Jacksons thread ride for a bit IF the mood stays good and good info is posted, but many times these things turn nasty cuz of a few immature people.

They only have themselves to blame for all the locks. Threads that stay on Madonna, Beyonce, etc...WITHOUT the Jacksons stuff rarely get locked. Wonder why?! lol

This is a Prince site, and a lot of posts are about acts and artists who are from that era. When Prince was at his peak in popularity who was around at that time? The same people that are into Prince's music may also be into Rick James, MJ, others who were big from the same time period. It's not odd to see some Jackson posts here in my opinion.

There exactly are threads dedicated to the popular artists the fans frequent in the NON MJ music section and guess what?

There IS a Prince thread on all the MJ forums Ive gone on as well as a Madonna one.

I think you and me both know this is more of having to do with MJ more than anything else and the P fans hostility towards him for whatever reason.

Please stop making it seem like the P fans here are angels and are not pushy. The Prince fans here have done as well as have said some of the most disrespectful comments I have ever read on a message board just because they dont like MJ and before the passing of Whitney they would bash her constantly. disbelief

No it's not odd to see SOME posts about the Jacksons, but half the front page sometimes? That's forum flooding. Rick James, Stevie, etc are all frequently discussed. Usually the threads are pleasant and informative. Rarely do they get locked. Big diff, right? lol

It's not the issue of whether MJ/Jacksons should be discussed, but how SOME people go about it.

But surely you'd agree that the anti-MJ trolls exist, and are partially responsible for the flame wars that get the threads locked?

To be honest there is a Rick James thread on PMM that has gotten, uh, interesting in there. Pleasant it's not. I don't know who and what gets locked all the time.

I don't mind old Jackson family songs and videos being posted because I like to hear them, & discuss the music. Shrug.

Yes, those trolls exist....and so what?! This is why we have mods. lol Besides, nobody just has to get into a flame war because someone else doesn't think their star is the bee's knees. People have differing opinions...shrug. That's life. Feel me?! lol

I don't read that part of the forum, so I don;t know how it goes down there, so..I'm just talking about what I see here on Non Prince.

Yes, I understand. I mentioned the anti-MJ trolls because you said MJ conversations are a problem when they turn ugly and get locked.. which isn't fully the MJ fans' fault, when the anti-MJ people constantly try to start trouble, too. I definitely think people need to report flaming more often, rather than flame back.

I was not on the MJ fan sites for a long time, although I'm his fan, but I think that no one artist has such a strong presence, Michael is usually absolutely center of the universe on his fan forums.

but I could be wrong, last time I visited MJ 8-9 months ago ..

I dont make multiple MJ threads in the NON music section. The ONLY MJ thread I made was Serious Effect. The other threads I make sometimes are Jackson 5/The Jacksons songs OR artists that feature Michael but I havent done that in a while. The MJ sticky is soley anything and everything related to Michael Jackson not other Jacksons. Janet has alot of threads here so going by your logic she needs to be in the MJ sticky as well? or Jermaine? Their SEPERATE artists including The Jacksons and they should be treated as such.

I am very clear about the rules if YOU dont want to talk about Janet, Jermaine, La Toya or any Jackson 5 songs then dont go in to those threads. The MJ threads outside the MJ sticky are understandable but besides that just dont go in the threads of the artists that dont interest you.

Do you think the mods lock them for fun? No. They lock them because they're supposed to be in the sticky. How do you not get this? There is no wiggle around it; it is what it is. Accept it and move on accordingly instead of fighting tooth and nail over it on a Prince site. You will never, ever, ever, ever end up on the winning side of that argument because you're in the wrong territory for it.

That's free advice. Not an attack. You can take it however you wish, or not at all. Que sera sera.
