Why was Clare Fischer's passing thread taken off of the front page? Why was Clare Fischer's passing thread taken off of the front page? This comes off as slighting one of Prince's greatest musical collaborators. If I remember correctly, when Bobby Z was critically ill, he was given the appropriate attention on the front page.
Many people only go to the front page for Prince news. This is absolutely Prince news. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Come on fellas, surely a documentary on The Africa Channel which Prince had nothing at all to do with clearly deserves headline news on the worlds largest Prince Fan Forum.
Clare Fischer?...what the fuck did he ever do for Prince ... some of these mods need to get out in the fresh air once in a while. Individual decisions are sometimes not conducive for a community based forum....this need to be put right

If there's concern that the death was not confirmed; http://www.latimes.com/en...1789.story
If it was taken down for any other reason, the mod should resign. Again, there's a pattern of behavior of disrespect (more than likely unintentional but disrespect none the same). I bet I know which mode did this and if my hunch is true, this mod should just realize he/she is past his/her prime and call it a day.

Indeed, WTF? | |

The sad part is, we can't intellectually engage the moderator who made this action because he/she has no idea that he/she did something to offend this websites guests. He/she just chucks along doing what he/she does best---alienating the participants of the site and since Ben and Val are too busy (rightfully so) living their lives---this person has cart blanch to ruin viewer-ship's experience.
My lord, basis reading comprehension should be a given when moderating a site but this person obviously has no clue because he/she doesn't understand. It's a sad thing---it's a sad thing for everyone who logs on to prince.org. Space for sale...

Is it just me or is this sight crazy when it comes to mods?

I don't want to start mod-bashing, but it is interesting that no mod has responded to this question yet, even though there have been mods online and active in this forum since this post was made.

I certainly didn't want this thread to become a reason to bash any Mods. Moderating the org is a thankless job. Literally.
I just thought pulling the Clare thread was an odd move and I wanted to be able to wrap my head around the reason it wasn't considered "front-page worthy".
But it seems the thread is back on the front page again, so fans that may not have heard the sad news can pay their respects, reminisce and discuss all things Prince/Clare.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I just get frustrated when the same issues come up. Especially when involving people wanting to pay respects for a deceased. Something similiar happened with Teena Marie's death thread...I think that's who it was. And, yes, moderating is a thankless job but it's also an important job too. That's all I gottza say on the topic.

It was hidden but was then restored based on the same consideration you've outlined above. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
