From a thread you no longer have an interest in?

Especially when you get the indicator that someone's posted?

I ask because it took me a while to stop checking every thread I'd posted on even when I was no longer interested in where the thread had gone. Maybe my post had been an impulsive, quirky one and the thread takes on a life and keeps going.

Now I can ignore without checking.

Yes. But I have to click on it to clear that there's a new post. I just don't read them. It kinda-sorta satisfies my OCD about seeing that there are new posts on a thread that I want nothing more to do with.

It depends on my comment... If im just making a random comment, I dont usually check unless the thread stays on top... if I am in a discussion I will check..

But then I dont suscribe to threads either... I usually forget what ive posted on

Yes! Me too!

Sometimes I just get bored with the topic, or someone derails it in a way that turns me off.

Other times, I walk away to keep from getting banned with comments...

But in any case, I do the same thing that errant and Nothinbutjoy do.

OMG, I will completely forget about conversations in threads, because ultimately I'm here for entertainment, but it's like thumbing through channels--you forget about all the shit that's on, if you're not really that into a specific show.

I'm certainly ABLE to walk away from a thread, but I'll usually check back when I see there's been a new comment, in the unlikely event someone has personally asked me a question or made a comment directed toward me.
