pretty much.
We've had many threads of substance but many get zero responses; I'd probably just say forget it too. Things come full circule.... you take the highs with the lows.
What I kinda miss are those orger's who you could tap for knowing an artist, a genre, label, or period of time in music through and through. Someone who posted in this thread (who's musical taste I'd define as alternative) never ceases not to catch my ear.
Just a thought.....
Maybe prince.org "look" needs to be revamped to compete with FB and other such sights. All of the other sites I'm on have done major asethetics makeovers in the past 3 years, even my geeky computer site.

I speak with Blackguitaristz from time to time. He's doing fine and he's been heavily busy with his music/writing/playing and producing. I miss him on the org too but everything with him is cool.

The million Beyonce threads
The threads where people ask controversial music questions wanting opinions but bitch at the responces
People complaining about other people complaining to feel good about themselves
The lackluster thread topcs
The repetitive nature of the same thread topics
I wont say arguements and flames because its a message board that occurs on ALL message boards... pretty much on any form of internet technology where you are communicating with people fb, twitter, tumblr etc...

Yeah he left. I liked Ernest he was a bit of a curmudgeon; if you get passed that I found him to be very thought provoking.

Yeah, he seemed like an interesting guy but he had douche-ish qualities.

Ms Trina, like I said I have stomach issues and anything can cause them to flare up. Change on my fave websites, greasy food and a certain dysfunctional family we both love, lol "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

OK. God forbid any sudden changes around prince.org.... make your stomach do flips.

Her situation was strange. She deleted her account after posting one last topic in GD on sex. She used to be one of the most interesting posters in GD. Don't laugh at my funk

Ernest left on his own. IIRC he was riding an orger on a topic and another called him out and i guess he couldn't take the heat so he got out of the kitchen. Don't laugh at my funk

Ironic for such a sh!t talker.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
He was cool but i also noticed that he had no problem ripping someone over liking an music artist that he didn't like but on the flipside if someone stated they didn't care for an artist he liked he seemed to take it a bit personal and got rather nasty at times. Don't laugh at my funk

Another interesting character was Zelaira. Not sure how much she posted in this forum but long ago (before I banned myself from P:M&M), she was a fixture there.
It was hard to determine if what she talked about was real or imagined.

But Timmy, those threads about The Jacksons, particularly Janet & Michael have been going on for years now. I remember lurking on this site long before I joined and MJ/JJ were always a hot topic, good or bad.
What I always respected about the posters on this site, whether I agreed with them or not, is that many seemed to have a great knowledge about various artists and genres of music.
I've learned so much about music just from being on this site, but I think the decline has to do not only with certain posters being absent but the various threads about talentless and overhyped artists.
A lot of threads here are now about Beyonce, Rihanna,Gaga, etc. Even friggin' Justin Bieber. Basically people I don't give a shit about lol. Not saying I don't contribute to these threads from time to time, but a thread talking about a new Rihanna picture or something will get more views and responses than one about a veteran artist or a newer artist that is actually talented. I don't get it.

^ There are about 20 acts (might be a generous estimate), who all seem to be in the same or closely related genres, that get constantly discussed. And this is supposed to be a forum about MUSIC in general? "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
