Why Prince.org is a great place (in my opinion)

Before Prince.org, I never came across any website that had as many people that had similar goals and interests as me. Prince.org is one of the few communities that has very diverse conversations and topics, while keeping the message of Prince and his music top priority. Fair weather Prince FANS come here to add a "devils advocate" feel to the site and keep it diverse. Prince fams come here to share their own musical creations and even musicians outside of the funk genre come here to share their music. You allow all people to share their political and spiritual/religious beliefs freely, which many sites do not allow this, and want you to strictly stay on topic with things related to the site title. Even though there are many on this site that do not feel the same way I do on issues, there are some that do, and that is rare because I have rare utopian ideals. You do all of this while also having site monitoring that reduces flames and derogatory remarks (the monitoring is getting better).

I just thought I would take the time and acknowledge this, because so many people put down this site like it is a horrible, stressful place, but it is not. This site accomplishes much more than any other Prince site out there (by it's free forums, links, listings, chat, related artist promotion, etc.). And, if you don't like this place, then DONT COME HERE!

Your friend,

Jason Dodson

For me, its not that often I meet someone who doesnt look at me like Im gay just cos I like Prince. Its nice to see that there are more like me who dig his music.

I also like the fact that the moderators post amongst us. On many forums I visit, the moderators have this 'holier than thou' attitude & its nice to see that the moderators enjoy our discussion & feel free to contribute

Also, the org has always encouraged me to keep the Prince influence in my own music with their kind words & comments.

Lewis

Okayplayer & the red hot chilli peppers forum the moderators arnt very nice when they do chose to post, its almost like they think they are better than posting on a forum (so they moderate instead?) but thats what I mean. I feel like I know the mods personally here whereas other forums are a little intimidating

Hey good idea, I might try that spooky Org illuminati thing biggrin I'll be too good to mix with the riff-raff on the forums, and just sit on my throne and issue decrees to lock certain threads that displease me. That sounds like fun biggrin

Haha i know what you mean Lewis, I've been on some sites like that too... I hate that vibe.

Hey, on most other boards you're lucky to get "holier than thou," it's usually "search and destroy."

(or "seek and destroy" for you Metallica fans)

This is exactly how I imagined a Prince fan forum would be on Prince's NPGMC site. I think that it's great that we all can come here and interact with one another and exchange thoughts and ideas. It feels good not to be alone in the world!

It's easier to be blind when you're not focusing on your eyes. Is it heat inside? I felt a stinger in my blood. A poisonous lollipop twist.

I am totally feelin' that bit of poetry. Nice.

Thanks for the kind words, y'all.
