The moderators have been talking about splitting the PM&M forum for a while, in fact there is an opinion poll on the home page right now asking if we would support splitting the forum into 2 or more forums, one for music, and one for everything else.

Seriously though -- and this is strictly my opinion -- I'm mostly interested in the information other .Orgers have about topics like the inspriration behind songs, studio stories and insights into Prince history over unfounded speculative posts that aren't related to the music or the artist. Sure I read the wig posts but they're redundant and no one has any verified info to offer. Discussions about the best song, album or whatever can be fun but again that topic seems to pop up repeatedly and too often becomes a series of rants on insults. Posts like "What color are his skid marks" and "is he circumcised" just baffle me, I guess it's a joke that I just don't find funny.

Anyway it seems with all the informed and intelligent people in here I'm surprised that we're not (myself included) starting more informative, thought provoking or original topics. Like I said I read the .org often and indeed there are some truly great posts now again.

i'm a bitter old fart too, and agree some posts are infantile. however in 1987 - 88, when i really got into prince, aged 16, 17 every topic in your list would have been profound to me. lol

I feel ya. Maybe it would be best to split. I like to see more intelligent discussions of his music too. There's a lot to talk but then you get junk like "how much of Prince's hair is his?"
