POLL: Should Prince Org time be set to UTC/GMT?

Should the Prince.org time be set to UTC?

I just ask because not many of the fans on here are from LA or the -8 time zone and I think it would make sense to use UTC as that then covers the world better and also matched the UK fans time zone, of which there are a lot on here.

UTC/GMT is used in the UK over Winter, but Summer the org could use daylight saving and it could change to BST which is GMT +1.

Vote!

It would be easier for all the fans round the world, but equally, you can't knock a site for using its local zone.

Some modern sites can be set to to the time zone of the browser, the fact this one uses Pacific time is particularly infuriating for those of us in New Zealand, as its 19 hours behind us in winter, and 21 hours behind us in summer. My timezone is GMT +12 (+13 in Daylight savings), it says here its 6.01am on May 23rd, its actually 1.01am here on May 24th.

GMT would make it a bit easier, but I think personal settings would be best.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

How do you know the number of fans that use the org who live in LA vs. the number that live in the UK?

I'm going to go ahead and submit a write-in nominee and ask that it be changed to the time zone in Dallas, because of the 42,446 members and guests who were on the org 12/03/2010, 42, 445 of them were actually from Dallas. That means we win!

Do they even have Prince fans in Texas? Don't they think he's the antichrist there?

LOL

We could also do Minneapolis time perhaps.

Minneapolis and Dallas are in the same time zone, so we win either way. And, yes, Prince has fans in Texas. lol

This thread needs to be moved to site discussion.

It would be much better if you could set your own time zone. However, I don't see how it's easier to add or subtract the number of hours from what's listed whether it's one or the other. shrug

How does it cover the world better?

I like it the way it is now (particularly while Prince is doing concerts in that timezone wink). I've just managed to get comfortable converting Aussie time into LA time - I'd have to start all over again with bloody English time! razz

Realistically, I'd say the majority of orgers by far are from the US, so having a US timezone makes the most sense.
