Maybe that is why we don't see much of squirrelgrease any longer There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

seriously the intense concentration of personalities can be a bit much from time to time
sometimes I wonder if I'm just reading people wrong and they come across as meaner than they really are. I know that happens in emails a lot. My Legacy

I'm confused. When in 1988 did MJ (I'm guess you mean, Michael Jackson) perform at a circus? I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

prince.org is just a reflection of what people are like in the real world.
Most people on the org are compassionate, funny, well-read, informative and just great to get to know through their written words.
Some orgers here (very few) are caught up in their own worlds and can't function in real life... so they come here to use the org as their mental toilet. They just vent and spew and whine and moan about shit that goes on in their life. Instead of dealing with it in real time... they bring that here. Its that very passive agressive behavior that will bring under cover racists to P&R, whiny bitches to GD, and music snobs that have no creative outlet to the music forums...
lets not even go into the delusional wierdos that post stuff in the PM&M forum. Lord I know Prince pops in and just shakes his head at people who think they are experts on his race, his sexuality, his hair, his left baby toe even.... but have never met the man himself.
The ONLY orgers in my years of lurking and posting here who can actually claim unfairness is a beautiful strong woman that used to post and leave her name. I was so inspired by her, when she shared her story with me I actually cried. I too made fun at her posts, but I immediately checked my attitude and my behavior. I apologised to her for being an asshole and stood up when people bashed her.
I felt that every orger here lined up to make fun of her or giggle at her expense... they were all wrong, dead wrong for making fun of her. She is the ONLY orger I seen that happen to. No other.... the other orgers just stuck their asses out too far with their bullshit and deserved the swift kick up the ass. It was their own making, I stand by that sentiment also.
To the one orger, that I 1st made fun of, (regretfully) and has stopped posting here... if you see this, I hope you do... I think of you every day dear. You are a special woman under extraordinary circumstances. I love that you keep pushing forward, and I am so sorry that anyone here has hurt you. You are the reason I stay here... you inspire me to be a better person everyday. I miss you, and I hope you are OK. I hope your son is better, and I hope life is finally easier for you. All my love to you C. P. I respect you more than any other orger here... and that's saying a lot since many people here are some awesome human beings.
In short, the org. is what you make it [Edited 4/6/11 14:21pm]

I'll tell you why - because they think they own this place! It's really sad when you're not allowed to say your opinion. When you don't like some popular song, they will tell you to "log off". When you ask about something, they will reply with dead horse emoticon. You can fight against it or be just another "sheep". Kill All Hipsters

But see it's OK to do that from time to time... I do it too. Sometimes we ask for advice and we get great ideas from people who are a well rounded and an experienced group from all walks of life.
Its a wonderful community... its when a person is a totally dysfunctional and they come here and are just toxic. They don't cope well here. They will be pushed out because no one wants people around who are negative all the time.
Now... that is different from an orger that has their own way of communicating and are just well, eccentric. Orgers like that are often misunderstood at first (heck I was) then people warm up to them in time.....
also, all the culture clashing helps us to grow as individuals.

I don't tell all of my business here, but I find that I am one of the most misunderstood orgers here. I don't know if it's my wording, or I come on too strong. I think you would have to know a person or meet them before you know where they're coming from. Also, I like to research topics and when I do, I like to share it, but I guess people take it as an know it all attitude, but that's not the case.

beautiful that was. Dave Is Nuttier Than A Can Of Planters Peanuts...(Ottensen)

I think that is the case sometimes (not all, though).
I think some people think that because they know more about Prince, or the music industry/production in general, that their opinion should hold more weight.
Some people also get behind a computer screen and treat others different than they would in real life. That is a sad side effect of the advancement of technology - your social skills may suffer.
Also, some people are really attached to their opinions and they feel like it is a personal attack if you don't have the same opinion as them, so they lash out.
This sentiment seems to coming up a lot lately, though. I've said this in another post... If someone is trying to pick a fight with you, it's easy enough to just not respond to the bait and it will fade away.
I mostly find the squabbles amusing, but I've known 2 orgers get bullied into closing their accounts recently, which is sad.
And I hope squirrelgrease comes back. I never saw him get engaged in the malicious stuff, so who knows why he has been MIA. I miss him though!

Eh, the typical reasons, I suspect: insecurity, attention craving, sexual frustration, irregularity, bad haircut. The anonymity and physical remove of the internet also gives some folk room to be particularly smarmy, aggressive and rude without catching a mouthful of fist. Most of them would never be so audacious in realtime.
My advice: Screw 'em. They often self-destruct after a while. And in the meantime they call themselves out to be the laughingstocks they are. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

i can honestly say when i first came on here people were nice. yes some assholes but more nice people than mean trolls
they ignored me but for the most part orgers are nice
i find that the levelheaded nice ones are long time org members alot of the assholes eventually log off and stop coming

First off, some folks are just plain attention-whoring folks, second off, you just gotta ignore any drama that comes near you. It's much easier to establish yourself here than it is to worry what someone may think of you. I don't know if it's malicious but it's highly troublematic that they act like that. This place has great people in it. Just ignore the fools, you'll be alright.

I really enjoy the evil ones. Have a blast reading their posts. Very transparent and very easy to stirr up. Especially the over narcistic ones really make my day.
In general I'm a kind, somewhat weird, person, in reality and on the org. If I ever did hurt anybody: Really? What was the hurting part? Orgnote me, and let's write a peacetreaty

The internet feels anonymous, so people want to say anything on their minds. It's like the wall in the girl's bathroom in high school. Take everything with a grain of salt. Usually, people aren't as mean in real life as they seem on the internet (especially if they're very blunt). Most importantly, don't take any of it to heart. A majority of the people here don't serve any purpose in your real life, so why be concerned that they harass you over the internet! Be above that childishness.
I sincerely hope squirrelgrease comes back. His posts were one of the reasons I joined the org.

Ah! So that was actually a concert performed by Michael Jackson on his Bad Tour and not literally a circus. I get it, now.
Here's the thing though, I happen to know that there are quite a lot of prince.org members who happen to really like Michael Jackson, were at that concert and/or others during that tour, that might feel sadden by your nastiness in calling it "a circus and crapcrapcrap".
The true beauty of prince.org is...that is your opinion and you are most certainly welcomed to express it. As is everyone else of their opinions.
However, when you make threads attempting to chastise and condemn others about the nastiness and ridicule in the expression of their opinions. You might want to remember that none of us are perfect people, not even you. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
