An example of what shouldn't be locked.

http://prince.org/msg/8/359351

This thread had little to do with Michael Jackson and was more about the current state and future of the recording industry. The fact that the top album happens to be MJ should not cause this discussion to be forced into a sticky - that would be wildly off topic for the sticky itself.

Don't lock threads that people are actively participating in when they are constructive and don't break rules. It's just silly at this point.

If you lock 90% of threads with Spinlight's rants in to other orgers then you will have locked all the threads you need! wink

I have to say it. This is a perfect example of the need for comprehension when moderating.

I love how there is fifty Lady Gaga threads up in the mix right now but we have a couple MJ threads and oh noooo...time to lock them. lol

I would like to request that anyone that is currently a moderator of Music: Non-Prince be excused from their duties. It's obvious that either 1) They don't frequent the forum enough to understand what's going on or 2) They lack the skills to actually moderate the forum.

Please powers that be, take my comments into consideration.

I had at least three threads about MJ [or mentioning MJ] locked. And there were some pretty good disscussions going on with them too...

I've seen threads get to four or five pages of good discussion before it's been noticed and locked. I think it's pretty unfair when there's good discussion taking place. You can't really start a topic in a sticky. Besides it's about time the MJ sticky was gone. The posting rate on him has slowed to a crawl if anyone has bothered to notice.

If mods insist on carrying on with this silliness, i'd insist there is a Gaga and Janet sticky at the top of M&M. That's only fair? Right?

I'm 100% positive that this is only done to wind MJ fans up.
