Who the hell are they? There are currently 74 members and 5,624 guests online.

So, who are the guests and how come there are always so many?

No doubt many of them are lurkers (I was a casual lurker for years before I finally joined), but, with such a long-running and active site, I imagine the org would get a lot of automated traffic (bots, etc...) - I'd never thought about it, but I suppose they would register as guests just like human visitors...?
The other thing is that the org comes up very well in google and probably other search engines, with any Prince topics (and perhaps some P&R stuff?) - with enough hits from search results, even if each one is only a momentary visit, that would push the number of visitors up.
As for the lurkers, you only have to look at how many views some of the threads get to know that a lot more people are reading them than are posting to them!
Between lurkers, bots, crawlers and those in the midst of some kind of Prince-related search, in every timezone across the world, I guess it's not an unreasonable number of guests.

Nah, it's just a typo.
It's supposed to say 5.624 guests online.

I imagine a least part of that guest number is made up of members who have logged off or timed out or haven't signed in yet. I sometimes surf the org from a computer that isn't mine, so I would never have it automatically log me in when I came here. If I'm looking at the org on that computer, I don't sign in unless I see a thread I want to respond to.
And then there are tons and tons or former orgers who don't post here anymore but they clearly visit often.
