Can we have a thread specifically for questions?

Prince Questions:

I.e.:

Is prince this or that?

Why does Prince...?

When will Prince....

I guess you got me.

Not complaining because I do it to. I just think it will unclutter the forums.

I think questions such as "Is Prince this or that" might be way toooo personal ^_^;;

But if there was a thread specifically for dumb foreigners who sometimes struggle to understand the deep meanings for certain lyrics, I'd appreciate it sooooooo much!! cry

"The Love We Make" is one of my favorite Prince songs and I still don't understand the part of lyrics;put down the needle, put down the spoon........

You could just start those threads - if they are popular and useful enough, then you could appeal for them to become stickies, but in the meantime, it would give you (and others) a place to ask these questions.

Personally I think they both sound like good ideas smile

In the meantime, though...

This is a reference to drugs, as both things are commonly needed for the process of reducing and injecting certain drugs (particularly heroin).

Prince was sending the message to stop doing drugs; ie. Put down the needle, put down the spoon.

The song is said to be at least partly inspired by the death of Jonathan Melvoin (Wendy and Susannah's brother), who had just recently died of a heroin overdose when Prince wrote it.

Oh, and of course you don't have to be a "dumb foreigner", or even a really smart foreigner (whatever that means on the world wide web razz) to struggle with Prince's often deep and/or vague and/or cryptic lyrics wink
