ORG note meter and ORG note SEND BOX

Love the multiple delete at once feature of the ORG note section.

Here are two more suggestions:

1. A send box or outbox where we can see the messages we've sent people

I know that it would take up extra room, so that's why I'm also suggesting:

2. An ORG note meter that tells us how much memory we have left for ORG notes so we know when we need to start deleting.

Agreed, I think this would be a very good thing. Also it'd stop people hoarding 1000s of Orgnotes.

I just did some quick stats, and you guys might be interested to know:
  • There are a total of about 61,000 orgnotes still "active"
  • 4 users have over 1,000 "active" orgnotes
  • About half the orgnotes ever sent, still haven't been deleted.
  • The average user with ANY orgnotes has about 20 of them "active".
  • Only about 2% of active orgnotes are unread!!
  • 17% of the orgnotes sent in the last 48 hours are still unread.
  • 52% of the orgnotes sent in the last 12 hours are unread.
  • On average, orgnotes are read 25 hours after being sent.
  • The 100 users with the most orgnotes have 51% of all currently active orgnotes in their accounts
  • The average orgnote message is 731 characters long (not including from/to, etc.)

(Active means visible in your account: not yet deleted, but may be read or unread.)

Whew!

Oh, one more thing. An 'outbox', due to what you've said... that it would consume more space IF I were to keep an actual COPY of everything you sent, would be a big problem. So I purposely designed orgnotes to not work that way smile It ain't e-mail.

That being said, I have thought about a simple version of an outbox, but it would only allow you to see messages you had sent and had NOT been deleted by the recipient. One cool thing though--you could potentially delete or "unsend" messages if they hadn't been read yet! (Well, technically yes--a good idea? I don't know!)

OK, I built this! Give it a try. If it screws up your (and everyone else's??) orgNotes, sorry about that! (Hah... I think it'll be OK... I think... it is 2am...)

Mine is all screwed up. Not only do I have the same "blinking" problem when I don't have any new notes, but when I reply to a note, it asks me to type in the name of the person I wish to send it to. I am not clicking the forward button on mistake. I am unable to simply hit reply and go.

Also, the sent box... well, I can delete each and every one of my orgnotes in my inbox with ease, thanks to you for adding that feature, but, I have to delete each note in the sent box individually, and I have to open them in order to do it. sad Help.

Could we maybe have an option as to whether or not we want to save our sent messages. I won't ever use them and if we had the option maybe it wouldn't take up as much space, if they do...

Yes that is happening to me too... but if you just type in the name, it works anyway the same way it did by hitting reply, you still have the original message included if you know what I mean.

I think, if I am understanding what Ben has said, we're not technically saving them, it's linking to the notes that we have sent to people... so it's not taking up more space by been in your sent box, if/when they delete the message, it won't be in your sent/out box anymore.. I think!... It's quite weird though, that if someone hasn't read the message you sent them yet, you can delete it if you change your mind, lol... funny.

Basically if people are deleting the messages you have sent them immediately, they won't stay in your sent box, right? Yeah, I think that's right anyway...

Okay how about that orgnote meter that indicates how much space someone has. And set a limit much lower than 1,000 for gawdsakes.

In fairness Ben, having a "sent items" folder would be acceptable if there were quotas... e.g. if it only stores the last 10 sent messages or something. Other web bbs systems use systems like this.

Those stats made for good reading biggrin

This is exactly correct!

And the reply thing is fixed now. The blinking count of your orgnotes, SHOULD be fixed for everyone. If it's wrong for you, please let me know (orgnote me).
